Absolute rip off and they s**** their customers. My son hit a curb and bent the front tire. Tow driver came and hooked the car up in less than 5 minutes and towed it 2 miles to the dealership. $630.00 for that. Absolutely disgusting. The tow bill cost twice as much as the vehicle repair. I called and talked to them about the bill, very rude and said that's what we charge. Will never do business with these crooks againReview from Peggy C

My son woke up to find his car was gone . Towed at 1:12am . Parking tickets . He had to quickly find a ride to work . He paid the parking tickets . My daughter and I proceeded to pickup his impounded car . Less than 24 hrs . Paid ****** for being towed a couple miles. The hook up charge is ****** in ***********. ****** at Collins Brothers plus many other fees . ***** a day compared with ***** in ***********. Think about your fellow man and quit over charging . The economy is tuff enough ! Im all for natural consequences , but this is pure greed .Review from Colby P

Charged me $312 for a 1.5 mile tow to release my vehicle. Granted I was irate, but even that doesn't justify the sheer level or of rudeness and unprofessional behavior I was subjected to.Review from Freya P

Those guys are nice humans I was at the dmv they were too. My car battery died so I called road side assistants after wait 2 hours I walk into the dmv the happened to be sitting there and helped me the are the best around in my book.Review from Mark N

Total bait and switch. They quoted me $66.10 for the *** mile overage, I confirmed the price and agreed. They sent the truck and after they loaded the car they changed the price to $101. Not a bait and switch It is overage on a AAA call, there is a fuel surcharge and tax on top of the additional mileage fee. Any extra mile makes a difference. We do over 500 AAA tows a day across *********. One reason we dont qoute tows, people change their mind, dont think about the tax, etc and think its going to be the same rate. We run a business just like anyone else, when a bill is not paid it goes to collections. After 45 days of not being picked up, the state law we send to collections. If you pay your bills they wouldnt go to collections. If a bill, vehicle, etc is in your name, you are responsible for it.Review from Sarah R

I was a little skeptical after reading these reviews on here but found myself having a bad day and Collins Brothers Towing of St. Cloud was the closest to my location. Every single person I dealt with went above and beyond to make sure myself and my 3 kids were safe, and you cannot put a price tag on that. The dispatcher who answered the phone was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. She was able to determine exactly where I was even though I was so shaken up and crying after my crash. She was able to talk me through everything, remain calm and, most importantly, give me suggestions on staying safe while on the side of the interstate with large semis and cars flying by at 80+ MPH. The tow truck driver showed up almost immediately it felt like and sprang into action. His first concern was making sure my kids were not hurt or scared. They got my truck loaded with no issues and the road cleaned up as well to make it safe for others. The next day I went to the impound lot to get my stuff out of the truck and was treated very fairly and friendly by all the staff. They even offered to email a copy of my invoice to me and my insurance company which was something I hadn't even thought of doing yet. I wholeheartedly believe that if you follow directions, are honest, transparent, and kind, this is how you will be treated in return. People are quick to jump on here and write a bad review trying to tarnish the Collins Brothers name, but I believe there are 2 sides to every story. I would ****% recommend Collins Brothers to my friends and family. They also mentioned they are available pretty much statewide so I will be using them again for sure (hopefully not too soon!). Thank you all for your dedication and service, I can imagine it is not an easy job to be constantly criticized and treated like garbage when people don't like your prices or are probably having one of the worst days of their lives. Terrible sheisty company. I called after drifting on a steep grade and barely got stuck. Called and asked for an estimate. Secretary said only the driver can do that but she took my credit card. Driver shows up pulls me out in less than 5min. He asks for my card and I ask how much he says $220! Total scam. He could have told me before he pulled it out. I called and complained & asked for a fair deal. Got nowhere. **** called for a winchout and couldn't give us details. We do not give an exact price as every winchout is different, how far, how much snow, what size of vehicle, etc We told him it woud START at $150 plus fuel surcharge and tax. Our guy who has been towing for 8 years showed up, 11 miles away from our shop, and winched him out. It would have taken longer if the guy didn't have the knowledge he has. We don't base it off of time as every operator is different. Some operators a winch will take 5 minutes and the next will take 20. We base the price of the severity of the job and what it entails. The total bill was $221 after fuel surcharge and tax. it was a $175 winch because it was more then he said on the phone. **** was extremely rude to our dispatchers, then our driver and threatened to KILL our driver if he charged more then $150. He was very hostile with the dirver, our driver left beofre **** tried to do anything and we notified ************************. Bill **** called our office and continued to call our gal in the office a c*nt, b*tch, females are worthless, etc. The owner called **** back to explain to him exactly why we don't give exact qoutes and how he treates our staff is not ok. He then went on to call the owner names, worthless, piece of sh*t, scumbag, scammers, he will find him and make sure he doesn't live to see another day. **** is well known to be this type of guy after talking with other business owners and the sheriffs office. He thinks we charge to much, even though we explained to him that a tow truck is $150,000, insurance is $3000 a month, drivers wage, fuel, wear and tear on the truck, dispatchers wages, maintenance, etc that its not free. He didn't like that, he thinks we are government funded and we s**** everyone over to make millions of dollars. We told him to quit calling and harrassing and htrreatening our staff, he kept swearing and calling names so we hung up on ****.Customer Response

This guy is lying through his teeth. Just about every step of what he's claiming is either totally false or partial truth. He called me on a "blocked line" so I wouldn't know who he was and he said to me "I hope you ******* die you peice of ****...you don't have a pot to **** in". I never made the slightest threat to his driver. That's a complete lie. In fact I began calling the office while still engaged with the driver. Perhaps they have phone recordings I can subpoena? This guy is a sick sociopath. I wasn't surprised to find they ALREADY had a F rating with BBB. They clearly play a shell game of blame about pricing. The dispatcher told me the driver determines the amount. The driver stated he had no control over pricing and said he could do nothing about it. They gave me no estimate or receipt. Just CHARGED MY CARD WHATEVER PRICE THEY WANTED.I also helped him pull the winch cable across the road because the driver couldn't do it himself. I also bundled it back up for him while he was on the phone talking to their dispatch. I did most of the work TOTAL SHAM. STAY AWAY!Review from Shelly C

5 minutes is all we needed.My friend spent all day Thursday and Friday in the hospital with his wife by his side and me by hers. We called collins towing to ask what we needed to retrieve items and were informed of proof of ownership and the owners drivers license. We checked yahoo maps for hours 9-5 pm. My friend finally got out of surgery at 4:10 so we drove home, got the items needed to get to collins brothers towing by 4:39 only to discover that the door was locked with people inside. When we called they repeated the same information; We closed at 4:30 with no exceptions. Youll have to come back on Monday. Finally a man says that there is no one here that can help us. I explain about the hours difference. We see him leaving the building so we beg for just five minutes to get her sons backpack and garage remote out. He refuses, not because its the law but because those are their rules. This man and company should have owned up to this misinformation and should make exceptions until it is fixed. He told us to call back on Saturday to make an appointment but then he admitted there would be no one there Saturday or Sunday so we would have to wait until Monday at 9 am at the earliest. We werent worth five minutes of his time. We were 10 minutes of arguing though.***** is he was the guy who could have helped and allowed for some ****** While things are not important and my friend will have to find a way to get them later, people are the priority after an accident. This is not the case with collins towing- and they do not make things right even when they should. They made an already stressful day even worse. If I could I would give a negative star for this treatment. If I ever have the choice to use a towing company I will never use collins. You were not the registered owner for one, we don't release belonging to non registered owners. You were told all this prior. Our office is 8-4:30 always has been. Our office staff has to be gone by 5pm and 99% of the time people don't care and when they show up there will waste time and its 6pm by the time people are done. So our office staff cannot get to their kids from the babysittes on time, etc. We can't help people on ****** suggest times and ****** does what they want. our door and office says 8-4:30 on evey buidling we own. Our website we didnt build and we cant change, we have asked for them to change it many times. The way you then called our office and treated our employees didnt help your situatution. The gentleman you talked to has nothing to do with releasing vehicles. we have certain employees that kow the ********* LAWS and what we need to follow. Just becuase someone walking out the door to leave doesn't mean they are the ones. Could've been a driver, another office postion, etc. You have an attitude and think the world owes you everything. Target, or any store isn't going to stay late or open back up because you need something. The *** or license center doesn't reopen or stay alte for you and tahts government owned. Why do you think you get special treatment? We have **** cars in our impound today, we have issues with people like yourself about 5 times a year and thats about every ****** cars. I say we do pretty well with every customer that is not self centered. We truly have great customers and customers that understand, we do not build our ****************** such as yourself. There is plenty of people that appreciate our business and know what we do. We didn't build our business from 1 truck to 250 in 14 years by bad business pracitces. We don't tow for the **** BCA, 47 law enforcement Agencies, the Marines, National Guard and so on from being mean. You should check your attitude and not be self centered.Review from Valerie S.

I would not recommend Collins towing they are very rude and not knowledgeable and dont inform the customer. I called because I had a flat tire. After waiting 40 minutes the truck came he was busy texting. I walked up to him and waited till he was done texting He asked me for the mileage I said idk I took a guess. He said I need the exact number I said ok let me go look. I said why do you need the mileage when I have a flat tire? He didnt respond. He began Crawling under my Tahoe he kept doing something and it was taking a long time.I asked him do I pay you by the hour or by the job? He said the job. I said ok. Do you need to call for back up? He said no. After a hour I walked up to him and asked if their is a problem? He said ya I cant change your tire. I said ok. So now what? He said I can tow you. Ok. Then he wanted me to pay for a tire change he never did. He got ugly with me and I asked him to leave and I will call another tow company that knows how to change a tire he then threatened me that he will impound my truck if I dont pay for. Tire change. I said sir you never changed my tire. Im still stuck here. Can you call someone that knows how? I called all care towing they were so friendly and got me back on the road. I paid All **** towing less then I paid Collins and Collins didnt get me on the road. Collins didnt even tell me how much a tire change is. Then they wanted me to pay for a tow plus all the fees in a tow plus the change of my tire. However they never changed my tire. I paid Collins for a 70$ tire change that never happened and was threatened repo if I didnt pay. Im more then happy to pay for a job done and a knowledge skilled tow truck driver apparently Collins dont have that. All **** towing got me on the road and treated me with respect and guided me the whole way of what my Options are. Collins didnt and they didnt get the job done and tried to get more money out of me. Another customer that doesnt udnerstand. We need mileage for the vehicle for our records so if something comes up again and they try and blame us we have record of when we did a service for this vehicle. He wasn't texting, he was entering in vehicle and customer information on an app called towbook on his phone. That is an app that our company uses to dispatch and keep track of all services we do. It has customer information, location, times, pictures, etc. On most older chevroley vehicles the spare tire does not come down, the cable rusts and will not release. The driver did what he could to safely get the tire down and not wrekc anything. The customer was very rude and upset with our driver, who actually knows what hes doing and is cautious. We chose to offer a tow, vs the tire change as after 45 min the spare tire would not come down. We charge by the time/job, we cant help that someones spare tire or vehicle is ***** and doesn't work correctly. We offered to tow it at a discounted rate since we were already there for the tire change, the customer got upset. We still have to charge for our time and rving and fuel, wages, etc its not our issue that someones vehcile is the way it is. The customer didn't want to hear this and thgouht they knew it all. It's fine they called all care, we train our staff actually and have all employees that are clean background where allcare doesn't do that and have some felons that work there. There is a difference here. If you treated all care the way you treated us, I bet they wouldn't help you either.
