Went to Metro Dental Care in Edina Mn, and the experience was not good. The doctor was great. The staff put me in a room for 40 minutes while I waited for the doctor. No one came, the staff finally informed me the doctor had an emergency which delayed him. If that were truly the case a simple stop back to me in the room informing me of the delay would have been great. Instead I received a letter and asked not to return because I voiced my frustration when I sought the staff out myself.Review from Mark R

My wife was told she needed. 4 crowns. She said yes to two. She signed a paper stating she would pay for whatever insurance did not pay. The problem is they did not pre-determine the dental work, which is the accepted norm for putting on crowns. The insurance denied one of the crowns and the dentist even appealed the denial. Because they denied the one crown they are now trying to bill us for the portion that was denied. If they had sent in a predetermination as they should have they would have had to write off was. was denied. Because of their shady business practices we now owe over $500 for something that they should have known was not covered.Review from Crystal L

For the last few months I have had many problems related to the billing/business office end in regards to the Burnsville Pediatric location. First, the statements they send are sometimes not itemized. I once received a statement for nearly $14,00, the total amount that was supposed to be billed to insurance. They billed it to me, saying the account is over 90 days, please pay immediately. Some were charges from *** 2023, others from October, and the bill was dated November.I never received a bill for the *** services, so now this statement is showing over 90 days because they have never sent me a statement. To top it off, my *** from dental insurance says claim received 11/22/23 for the *** date of service. So they billed me before even sending it to primary insurance. I finally received a corrected statement but it included an extra $1.98- but I don't know where that came from. Probably interest fee, yet it's not noted on the statement. I think that's pretty sad, especially considering they billed me before they billed or allowed insurance to process the claims. Another thing is, my child's secondary dental insurance issue was fixed in Feb 2024 (for the *** 2023 service) and the rep at that insurance company said claims have been reprocessed and I'm still waiting to get a refund or information about the claim reprocess and picking up some of what I already paid. I've asked several times for billing to call me about this, but no call backs. For our last service there is December 2023, again I received my first statement about 2.5 months later and this statement did not have any itemized detail on it,it shows it was 60 days over due, plus it was $98.37 more than what my dental *** showed they could bill me. I have no idea where this extra amount came from. The *** for this service shows it was paid by insurance on 1/11/24, yet my first statement for it is dated 3/18/24. The dentist and hygienists Id say are rated 5/10. Not terrible but not great. Billing=1/10.Review from Sarah A

Due to Covid and personal preference during my pregnancies it had been a much longer time frame between teeth cleanings for me (normally twice a year).I went to metro dental care in Osseo hopeful to get back on track. I was surprised to find that I had a cracked tooth during my visit. I had zero pain or any indications that anything was wrong with my teeth, I needed a crown. Fast forward to hours spent in the chair to get said crown over two appointments (the hygienist that was working with me was still in school, came from ** where you dont need a license to work in a detail office as a hygienist) she had to stop a lot because she wasnt allowed to do certain things. Long story short, my crown was a mess and I refused to go back to this place to get it fixed. My bite was a MESS!! They ground so much on my real tooth that I just told them to stop. It was ridiculous. Ive never had teeth sensitivity until I had dental work done at this office. My new office is trying to clean up the mess that they made in my mouth. I prepaid on my credit card and was told I would get reimbursed if there was anything that was covered by insurance. However, it is standard practice for this office to charge patience day of instead of sending a bill. Now, almost a full year after I have received treatment from this facility, I am being sent past noticed bills for the exact amount that I have my receipt for. I called the office and spoke to someone in billing. They never returned my phone call. I just received another bill in the mail and Im wondering if I need to get the attorney general involved? Or some sort of legal aspect? I am beyond floored that this office is still operating. Their practices just seem almost criminal to me.Review from Kathleen F.

My grandson had a wisdom teeth extraction 3-17-23. I paid out of pocket $1600.00 because they said they didnt know at that time how much the insurance would cover. I received an email from Metro Dental Specialty informing me that the ***************** would mail me an EOB in the next few weeks. 2 weeks after that the ***************** would send Metro Dental Specialty-Oral Surgery the **** I was instructed to call Metro Dental Specialty 2 weeks after I had received the insurance EOB for an update as to if I owed money or if they owed me a refund. I called and was told I was due a refund, which was obvious, and confirmed who the check was to be payable to and where the check was to be sent. I have called several times and its now ***** and I have not received the refund, I have only received a number of creative lies every time I call. I dont understand how a reputable dental professional company would be so rude, unprofessional and deceptive.Review from Wayne S.

I made an appointment to have a filling replaced ( it took 3 weeks) to get in . When I get there the receptionist said no it is an exam to look at the tooth not fill it. They did this to me before, I did not fall for it again and walked out.Review from Wade A

Terrible service. I have been a happy customer of ********************************************* in Savage for over 15 years. The dentists are great, they are the only reason to continue going to this practice. The hygienists are ok, I seem to have a new one every few visits. The office staff for this place is terrible. The last year or two have been problematic, the frustration has continued to build. Having to book my cleaning over 8 months in advance in order to continue to see my primary dentist/hygienist. Last year I had my appointment set up well over 6 months in advance. Metro Dental called me at 4:45pm the day before my appointment and cancelled. I was unable to take the initial call because I was at work. I called back less than 10 minutes later. There was no answer, instead I received the message stating "Our office is currently closed". I called four times the next day with the same message, "Our office is currently closed". I was able to reach someone to reschedule the following week, when I mentioned that I was rescheduling my appointment, I was met with the rude comment "Oh the appointment that YOU missed". I was upset and explained that they had cancelled my appointment on short notice. No apology, just a reply of "we're short staffed right now". Next the front office persons deleted my insurance information and had a company that I don't have as my provider. I was told by the receptionist that this is normal practice, insurance providers are deleted to update records. When I asked why they didn't call me to verify my insurance I was told they verified with the insurance companies. Had they verified it with the insurance they would've known I had dual coverage. Now I am stuck trying to get my dental claims paid by my insurance, but continue to have issues reaching the "Metro Dental's billing office", because every time I call I get the same message "Our office is currently closed". Thank You Metro Dental.
