Lighthouse Moving moving has moved me and my family 4 times now. They have always been kind, respectful and efficient. They were careful with our things and even set up the beds for us. I had several pieces of furniture that I needed to get rid of and I booked them the following week to have the stuff taken to the dump. John personally came to help with the move and gave me a fair price. I hope I never have to move again but if I do, I know I can count on Lighthouse Moving to get the job done.

Thank You *********! We appreciate your positive words about our company. We're not a huge company but we do try hard to pay attention to details, and to plan out what needs to be done to get you moved as efficiently as possible. All of this comes with years of experience! Tell your friends about us! Lighthouse Moving

John from Lighthouse is not an honorable person. He is not upfront about pricing and he does use contracts. He tried to insinuate he not charge me more than $800. I clarified with him and stated, oh, no, I will will have to charge you per hour after that. I should have taken that as a red flag. He later refused to give me my deposit back even though I gave him plenty notice. He gave me a really hard time about it and said I was the only person in 20 years who made such a fuss about $100, but eventually agreed to refund my money and then said never to call him again. However, he did not refund my money but called me the night before my moving day and asked if he was moving me. I reminded him who I was and he said I would receive my money within in two days. I have not received my money.

Not sure where we miscommunicated but we are an hourly based company, and like all companies we have a minimum, and after the minimum there is the same hourly charge. We can't do say a 6 hour move for the price of a 3 hour move. We would go out of business! lol. She did receive her $100 deposit back, though I didn't really owe it to her. The deposit is there to protect us from losing money when customers cancel their moves. We lost a lot of money after her cancellation. I couldn't find another move to replace her time slot. Very sorry that you are not happy. But I do believe you are being unreasonable in your expectations of a moving company.

Used them several weeks ago to pack my place & move. He came to my place to see how much I had & said then I had a lot but was not a hoarder, but just before moving day told me I am a hoarder & would need to pay more. Felt movers judged me poorly if I had more than 1 of anything. They don't know I'd had a 3 BR home + storage shed, retired so brought things home from work & had RV get destroyed so cleaned it out. Plus had both parents die & have their & grandparents items. Plus it's not his business to judge me. I was "gifted" 2 boxes that didn't belong to me & have been thru every box and am still missing items. Wonder who was "gifted" those boxes? Plus when I went back to clean my old apartment I found 4 or 5 pictures still hanging on the walls, including a large mirror that had been my grandparents. Don't use this place unless you're a masochist.

On the day of the move there were boxes piled high in every room. We were overwhelmed. I told her we would need 4 workers, not 3. With 4 workers we got her loaded ** in 4 hours. With three workers we would have been there 6 hours. We saved her two hours, so the extra cost of the 4th guy was essentially a wash. She had a slow small elevator a long hallway and a long walk through an underground garage to get to the moving truck. No one said she was a hoarder. What we said was it might be a good idea to get rid of some stuff! We could barely move in her apartment, we got the job done in 4 hours under very difficult circumstances. The so called gifted boxes may have come from the area by the elevator, or they might have been left on our truck for us to throw out. Customers ask us to throw stuff out all the time. We certainly never took her boxes. Interesting how she says she is missing items but never lists them. I can assure you we never took any of her "items". Oh about the mirror. She conveniently left out that I went over there on my own, a couple of days after her move, and took the mirror off of the wall. she asked me if I would do this, and I said "Certainly!" I can't remember if I then delivered the mirror to her new residence or if she did that in her own car. The mirror was sort of large but not super heavy. She is exaggerating and making our company out to be a company that takes items from our customers. If items are missing they are in one of the hundreds of boxes she had that filled up her new townhome. Again she says nothing about the value of the items. So we can infer from this that they are not super valuable items. They may have sentimental value for her, but I can assure you we did not take her items, nor have we ever!! I found this person difficult to deal with, demanding, and totally unappreciative of just how difficult and strenuous her move really was. Thank Goodness my other 239 customers a year do appreciate us and leave us countless reviews to tell us so!
