    I have had two pin hole leaks in ********************** water lines in the last 2 years in my 10 year old home. Both leaks were found early and caused no significant damage. My out of pocket expenses for repairs were approximately $600. The pipes were warrantied for 20 years. I contacted them by phone (their website to file claims is impenetrable) and submitted a claim along with sending a sample of pipe with the pin hole leak clearly marked. They then sent a team of 4 men to inspect the plumbing in my home, which took them about 3 hours. They determined that the water pressure in my home exceeded 80 psi, water temperature was too high, and they could not find the leak in the pipe sample sent to them. Therefore, they would not pay for any of my repair cost. Clearly they were not interested in honoring their warranty. If you do use this product, which seems to perform well on average, do not do so counting on the company's warranty to help with any repairs which might be needed.

    We are extremely disappointed in Uponor, *** to date. We have had 3 Uponor Pex-A pipe leaks, in March 2022, January 2023 and September 2023. After our 3rd leak we had our house repiped including the pipes to our water main. Uponor requested we send in samples of the defective pipe and were later informed that the root cause was inconclusive on the reason for the pipe leaks. Upon notification we asked for our pipe samples to be returned and have since been waiting for reimbursement. I have left phone messages with our Claim Specialist and she has failed to return my calls. I had multiple plumbers inspect our pipe and they informed us it was defective and later discovered the pipe had been recalled by Uponor. I then had my home repiped with the new Uponor Pex-A expansion pipe. Our expectation is that Uponor will take responsibility for their defective product and reimburse our expenses.

    This is a follow-up to the above review I sent in May 2014 regarding Uponor taking responsibility for my three PEX-A cold water line pipe (blue in color) leaks. My out-of-pocket expenses totaled $25,767 for repairs and re-piping of my home with the new Uponor PEX-A (clear/ white in color) pipe. On December 5, 2023 Uponor sent me follow-up correspondence stating their technical personnel find the pipe failures as "inconclusive" regarding the root cause of the pipe performance issues. On June 11, 2024 Uponor responded to my May 2024 BBB correspondence and stated the "cracking of the pipe can be caused by several factors, to include operating parameters of the system (e.g. the temperature, pressure, velocity and/or chemistry of the water in the system). Uponor confirmed that the *** (inner diameter) of the pipe has been oxidized. They stated their review of the submitted sample suggests that one of the critical contributing factors driving the crack initiation and propagation was stress; most likely stress placed on the system by the historical and current operating conditions. They have yet to prove this theory for my situation.My wife and myself had our retirement home built in 2013. Our first pipe break was on March 14, 2022, second break on January 20, 2023 and third break on September 8, 2023. Our plumbing company, ****** Plumbing, acknowledged our water pressure was below 80psi, line velocity was within acceptable parameters; the cold (and hot) water temperatures are within appropriate boundaries. PEX-A pipe should never crack within a nine year period, there is obviously a manufacturing defect and the company had an inadequate or non-existent quality control program. I have researched and know there are and have been nationwide cases with PEX-A pipe involving Uponor and I contacted a team of pipe experts that perform pipe failure testing and analysis and they are very familiar with Uponor and their PEX-A pipe issues. I find it disturbing that Uponor does not acknowledge full responsibilities to their consumers. I also asked Uponor to contact ****** Plumbing on several occasions but they have failed to do so. I also attached a letter from ****** Plumbing letter stating the pipe was defective and was the cause of all our line breaks. ****** Plumbing re-piped my home with the new PEX-A pipe and ****** Plumbing assured me this new pipe would not fail. On June 11, 2024 I received an e-mail from Uponor to settle the issue with a reimbursement total of $5,561.00, the cost for the first line break. I have had no offer to be reimbursed for the second line break repairs or re-piping. I expect Uponor to take accountability for their products and reimburse me for the damages to my home.

    Since August 2023, we have been having leaks /pin-holes now and then. In our ********** home, ********************** pipes were used. Today 1/25/2024 we got the leak fixed for the 6th time. We got the leak fixed all the time. There are cuts in the ceiling in my garage, planning center, and my living room. I have spent thousands of $$ to get this fixed. My builder Pulte Homes suggested that there is an issue with the Uponor pipes, so opened a claim with them. I have sent the pipe sample for lab investigation. Spending my own money to ship to sample to Uponor. Uponor has indicated that they want me to send the sample, only then they will begin the investigation but Uponor will not pay for shipping the sample/faulty pipe. There was no response from their side upon opening the claim. So I started an email chain, they involved a couple of personnel on the email, who did not respond to my email. I still do not have a plan from them. I want them to replace the entire pipeline of my home, reimburse all my expenses, fix the ceiling, and compensate me for the trouble my family has to go through daily due to the leaks.It has been a horrible experience dealing with Uponor There should be strict action taken against them.
