At the urging of my attorney, I attended an extremely costly mediation session with my former spouse facilitated by Ms. ********************** in June, 2024. The matter that initially came up for discussion pertained to my decision to temporarily revoke the drivers license of my older daughter due to behavioral issues; I had restored her driving privileges several weeks prior to the mediation session. Within 10 minutes of the beginning of the session, Ms. ********************** had issued forth her personal judgments and opinion on the matter without any knowledge of the context or surrounding circumstances. She immediately thereafter qualified her statements by saying, I mean Ive only known you for 10 minutes, so Im not necessarily in a position to have an opinion on the matter. But by that point, the $512 I spent on the session seemed like a total loss. My experience with public/county mediators is that they strictly avoid expressing their personal opinions and judgments on matters brought forward in mediation and provide superior services at a much lower cost.

I would NOT recommend Amber. My ex-husband and I met with Amber Serwat yesterday to try to resolve a parenting dispute. Based on that meeting, and the interactions I've had (or lack thereof) with her practice, I will never be working with her again, and would advise others not to as well. After not ever hearing back from my original inquiry asking for the free consultation she offers on her website, of which I likely would have chosen a different mediator had she provided it, she proceeded to clearly not review any of the information I shared prior to our session (even though her assistant asked for it), nor did she respond to a follow-up email I sent her prior to our session either. Our 2-hour session consisted of mostly listening to her attack our parenting and our character, only to start focusing on actual tangible actions in the last 15 minutes, and to have her run over our scheduled time making me late to work. To which I was shamed for prioritizing work over my children, as if it were that simple.I would have rather talked to my ex-husband directly than Amber.

Amber Serwat represented myself and my former spouse during a revisit to a former Parenting Consultant decision.Amber in our initial consultation promised she would take the time to revisit the prior decision and make positive changes to her ruling. Not only did she not do the work to reach out to the school staff..., she indicated that she had a "family crisis" and was otherwise absorbed by "moving my office space" that caused another delay.Instead of looking at all of the issues at hand, she released a lengthly response to the original Parenting Consultant decision without any changes and billed both clients for just a few changes in the schedule. In addition to her report, she indicated false claims and defamed the character in the plaintiff and did ultimately retract it only after charging both clients for her time doing so.She received full payment from both parties to only adjust the visitation schedule for two minor changes. We had 12 issues presented to her and she slightly covered one and charged us for all 12.This is an abuse to the corrupt system set in place for Parenting Consultants.
