They falsely raised the price of the delivery. They stated that pick up was $1600.00 and drop off was $1600.00. Then the price changed to $4,000.00 for pickup and drop off price changed to $6800.20 for drop off. The movers did not show up until 05/23/2023. They charged me for 200 boxes but only supplied 40 boxes from ******. I asked them for a box count and inventory. I did not get what I requested. I would like a reduction in price and we can negotiation that price and my belongings delivered.

    08/24/2023

Price agreed upon in writing by National Moving Services representative, Job Number *******.  Cost $3,300 to look in price and reservation (paid 7 Apr 2023).  An additional $1,000 was charged to me for the addition of a freezer.  New Job Number ******* (paid 1 May 2023).  An additional $1,600 at pick up, an additional $1,600 at delivery to be paid to E&L Movers LLC.

    **** ******** ******* ***

******** ****** ******** representative, conducted a general inventory over the phone with me.  Rep. assured me my queen size mattress and box spring would be packed in proper containers; my 4 TVs would be packed in tv boxes, and my 11 wall paintings would be packed individually in fine art containers.

Signed contract was for pick up on 21 or 22 May 2023.

E&L Movers (sub-contracted by ******** ****** ********) did not show up until 23 May 2023.  They did not finish until 24 May 2023.

After driver did his initial walk through diver reported  to his boss, E&L Moving, packing would require 200 boxes.  I estimate less than 50 boxes provided by the movers were used.

Cost for pick-up to be paid to E&L Movers LLC, was increased to $4,000 ($1,600 in cash and $2,400 Cashier's check paid 23 May 2023) and delivery was increased to $6,867.20.

Moving crew consisted of only two personnel.

Driver would not proceed  with packing until I sign the revised cost.  Driver did not give me a copy.

No tv boxes, no mattress box, no fine art boxes, for which I was charged.

Some of my property was loaded straight into the truck, without being packed or even wrapped.

Most of the boxes were supplied by me.  Boxes supplied by E&L Movers were purchased at ***** (with ***** logo on them) in ****** **********

Many of the boxes were not closed and taped.

No boxes were marked or numbered in any fashion.

The driver was belligerent uncooperative, and rude.

My property was not professionally packed.

Driver refused to give me a box count or packing list.  When I insisted the driver became belligerent and threatened to unload my property on my lawn and leave.

Freezer was not packed.  I was forced to sell it to a neighbor at less than half its value.

E&L Moving did not contact me until the 2nd of June (9 days), and will not tell me where my property is being stored.

I am a 64 year old military veteran on disability.  Due to the pick up cost increase to $4,000.  I was forced to deplete my funds.  Therefore, my property is still in E&L Movers facility.  I am paying .60 cents per cubic foot, $1,140 (1900 cubic feet) for 30 days at a time, until I can save enough money to have my property delivered to a rental self-storage facility.  The truck E&L Movers used is a 26 foot Rider box truck.  The maximum cubic foot capacity of this truck is 1600 cubic feet.  Not 1900 cubic feet.  The truck was not fully loaded from front to back, top to bottom, side to side.  I have photo evidence.

Neither company has addressed these issues.

I demand reimbursement for the added cost of the freezer ($10,000), tv boxes, fine art boxes, mattress box, and packing boxes for which I was charged by mover, but not supplied.  Reduction and credit for storage, and a reduction of the delivery charge.
