We used Chesterfield Fence and Deck to replace an existing elevated deck off of the back of our house that needed to be completely redone.We got a few bids and decided to go with Chesterfield Fence and Deck because we employed them to install a vinyl fence at a previously owned residence.Their well known reputation for superior quality also played a role in our choice.The planning process went very smoothly. We corresponded with *******, who did a great job keeping us informed of the progress of our project.A crew of 3 men did an outstanding job deconstructing the old deck in one day. They were very careful and respectful of our property. They finished the whole deck within 2 weeks and we could not be happier with the result! We highly recommend Chesterfield Fence and Deck for any job you may be considering. The structure is very sound, secure and beautiful. Well worth the cost.The saying You get what you pay for certainly applies.

Had deck replaced, when removing old deck the workers cut electric lines and shorted out some equipment, there was no way work crew could have known wires were there, Chesterfield fence and deck sent out subcontractor next day to do repair work, when subcontractor installed new equipment some pieces apparently had a factory default, subcontractor had no way of knowing, I contacted Mr. ***** ***** at Chesterfield fence and deck, He had someone come out next day to replace faulty equipment. I was impressed The way Mr. ***** handled the situation, the deck looks nice, I would highly recommend Chesterfield deck and fence company and would use them in the future *** **********

**** *  *********** sent a young man to do some repairs to my deck. Couldnt ask for a better quality of work. *********** is one of the best.

I contacted Chesterfield Fence and Deck (CF&D) last year (2021) to get a quote to switch my cedar decking to VECKA deckling. I signed a contract and was warned that lead times were long-which I expected since practically everyone was getting in line to have some sort of home project completed during the pandemic. The lead times did not bother me as I knew that quality work is worth the wait.I received regular monthly and weekly updates from the deck project coordinator. These messages helped me understand how many jobs were ahead of mine and when I would expect my next update. As we got closer to my projects start date, the frequency of the updates moved from monthly to weekly so I knew when to expect the crew to start. Once they started they were completed in roughly 5 days.Were lead times with this company long? Of course, but I was told up front to expect this and I was communicated with during the wait. Was it worth it? Absolutely it was worth the wait. Let me tell you that I couldnt be happier with the quality of work the crew provided and the finished VECKA decking on my new deck and stairs looks amazing.Good company, good people, amazing crew of professionals who do wonderful work and take pride in their craft.

Had a steel fence installed. Original target completion date was ******** but just finished in July due to installation problems (ie: not supply issues). They installed it differently than the design / contract leading to delays. They failed to come back to fix it until we chased them (back ordered parts were sitting in their warehouse). They regularly made appointments and failed to show up. One installer came and incorrectly cut the parts leading to further delays (this was after he spoke poorly of the company and said he was going to quit). The next installer ********* of the previous installers mistakes but then lied to me when I asked if he used concrete to set a post. He aggressively pushed the contract at me seeking my sign off for final payment in an effort to not have me look at his work. We had at least 3 different project managers introduce themselves via email during the project but whenever we reached out to them it was clear they were not tracking our project. Happy to be finished with the project, paid a high price for it compared to other bids such that we thought we were hiring a reputable company, but very disappointed with the delays, lies, poor communication and poor workmanship from a company that brags heavily about long time in the business.

I did have to wait about 7 months between contracting and build, but Chesterfield Fence and Deck did an excellent job on the installation. The Veka decking is great. The crew was professional. There were a couple of small issues, but ******* arranged for follow up, and they came and resolved them within days.

Worst company to buy a fence from and expect a first time correct installation!!! We signed a contract for a fence install in October of 2021. The install took place on Feb 17th, 2022. the crewe that showed up was one person who could not speak English, one translator, and one laborer. The fence was installed with at least 10 sections 6-10 inches above the ground (bottom of fence to top of ground). I stated to the crew that I'm buying a fence to keep a dog in and other dogs out---why would I want a 10 inch gap between the bottom of the fence and the top of the ground??? The translator called the 'home office' and said that a supervisor would be out to look things over in a day or so. The supervisor did come out and agreed that many of the fence sections were too high and that the wrong gates were ordered by the sales person. He said you should hear from us in about 8 weeks. In late March I called to find out if by chance my gates had come in. I found out the week of March 28th, 2022 that yes, my gates were in. The scheduling person informed me that my project would get finished up on Wed, April 6th. I ASKED THE PERSON IF THE NOTES IN THE TICKET WERE SUCH THAT OTHER INSTALLATION ISSUES NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. She said that she would contact the supervisor and ask him to correct the ticket notes because she did not see anything related to the height of the fence. She assured me that she would get things taken care of. I called the scheduling person again on Friday, April 1st, 2022. She said the supervisor was coming back out on Monday, 4/4 to have another look. He never showed up. A guy looking to be barley 21 showed up today (4/6/22) to 'install my gates'. I asked if he was also here to fix the other fence issues. He said "no." I said you need to leave and don't come back until your company is ready to fix the original install and install my gates. I have called and complained, I've sent emails---I'm still waiting! Don't use this company!!!

We returned as customers to CF&D to have a screen room put on our house. First, we were never informed that our project manager quit. The new one never introduced himself until he was stopped on our property by my husband bc he wasn't recognized. The crew mismeasured the boards for the roof and they left for the weekend by covering the hole in the roof with a flimsy tarp...with severe storms forecasted. Those storms came and destroyed our newly remodeled kitchen...almost $50,000 worth of damage. We were without a kitchen for 165 days during the pandemic. A crew member literally used the excuse, "We didn't make it rain." We were assured over and over that CF&D would "take care" of us. We met with the president and second-in-command; they told us our case was the worst they'd ever seen AND that they were having a banner year of business! As far as we were concerned, they did nothing other than send it to insurance. I received a phone call from the second-in-command who told me they were giving us an "inconvenience payment." Before paying the final installment I learned there would be no inconvenience payment. Our salesman was the only one who ever showed any concern or compassion. I would NEVER recommend this company.
