On Nov. 2, 2023, I purchased a kitten from ******'s Ragdoll Kitten for $1500. After getting the kitten, it would not use the litter box and I asked ****** for advice....after following all her advice (and my vet's advice), the problem was not resolved. ****** agreed to let me return the kitten and give me another one from a new litter. Then she changed her mind and said she wasn't comfortable putting another kitten in my care. So I asked for a refund instead. She only refunded $750, even though she'll be able to sell the kitten I returned again, or breed her. ****** refuses to explain the logic behind only returning half my money and will not communicate with me any longer. I'm seeking my remaining $750

As stated in complaint on November 2, 2023 ***** ****** ********* purchased a kitten from me for $1500.That day we both signed a contract which explicitly states in #12: "If you should no longer be able to keep your kitten, we will work with you to help find a suitable home. No refunds will be issued if you are not able to keep your kitten". On November 20, 2023 I received a message on Facebook messenger from ***** stating the kitten was fine the first 5 days then started pooping all around the house. I then suggested a phone conversation and ***** told me they had to go out of town for a family emergency (which her husband **** confirmed when he called me January 13-14 and we spoke on the phone) and the young kitten was left at home with their 10 and 14 year old cats and while they were gone their son came in to check on the cats daily and the inappropriate use of the litter box began when they returned. On that day I spoke to ***** on the phone and offered to take the kitten back but she wanted to try to keep her so I instructed her on how to "retrain" the kitten to litter box use which included confining the kitten to a bathroom for 1-2 weeks as well as other suggestions (litter, number of litter boxes and placement), lots of time and love with the kitten during confinement. She did all except the most important one - confinement so the problem continued. ***** messaged me again on November 22, 2023 that it was continuing and asked for "a trade". I responded that I would consider a trade but would have to think about it. At this time I was becoming concerned for the kitten which she didn't want to bring back yet and was going to continue to try. Then on December 4, 2023 she text me the behavior was continuing and if I would "still take her back" so she brought her back on December 5, 2023 asking about another kitten. I said I wasn't going to do anything until after the holidays as I anticipated having to retrain this kitten during the holidays. However, when she got the kitten there were no litter box issues and when she returned the kitten there were no litter box issues. On December 6, 2023 I took her stool to my vet and it was negative, and my vet saw her for shots on December 18, 2023 deemed her healthy. Then on January 6, 2024 ***** messaged me again wanting to know when she could get a kitten and possibly 2. At this time I messaged her back that I didn't feel comfortable placing another kitten with her and on January 19 send her a partial refund (which her husband understood and agreed on the phone) of $750 via Venmo. From January 6, 2024 through January 20 ***** sent me numerous angry messages that became threatening so on January 21, 2024 I filed a police report and the police officer instructed me to not respond and block her. At this time I will not be able to even sell the kitten at full price and I didn't have to refund anything but I graciously did. I will not place this kitten until she is spayed and recovered and until I can find her a suitable home for well-being and happiness that she deserves.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: there are so many untruths in the business response, that I'm not sure where to start.  First of all, can ****** produce this "contract" with my signature? I do not remember signing one or reading a 'no return' policy .  Second, I never threatened her and I'm sure the police were more than frustrated that a grown woman can't respond to her customers.  I stated that if she wouldn't reconsider the refund amount, she'd regret it because I would move forward with the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims Court.  I never threatened her personally - that is not something I would ever do.  Third, she DID say she'd give me another kitten to replace the one with the litter box problem.  She changed her mind and went back on her word. (****** continually changes the narrative to try to cover her butt based on her 'whims'.) Lastly, my husband never agreed to a $750 refund.  He said he understood if she wanted to keep the $200 deposit, but that would still leave $550 that she owes us.

Please request a copy of this 'contract' with my signature...IF there is one, I do not have a copy of it.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *********

I have contacted the BBB in St. Louis by phone today. They ask me to email them the signed contract which I did. They said they would upload (post) it here. **** ******

This is laughable.  ****** spelled my name wrong on the top right of the contract and when she forged my signature.  I would not sign my name wrong.
