I bought a 2012 **** Explorer four months ago from dealership and the moment that I got the car I put money into it. I had to buy many parts. spent ***** into the car for various repairs. I went to repair shop they told me it would cost me *****. Ashland would not give me my money back. Someone told him it was a salvage titled car.

Upon receiving the complaint through the Better Business Bureau,Ashland Auto Sales reviewed all the facts of the matter and is providing the response based on the evidence.

*****************************,purchased a 2012 **** Explorer from our dealership 7 months ago (on September 15, 2023). He came and test drove it several times and consulted with a couple of his friends. This vehicle belonged to one of our mechanics, who had been using and operating it for nearly two years. ***** met with the mechanic and asked him questions about the vehicle, its condition, history and maintenance. During this process,we showed him all the maintenance records, vehicle history and answered all his questions. He was excited to buy this vehicle and we initiated the process of obtaining the funds from his Bank Trust, a process that took a couple of days.

In the process of sale, we told him that the vehicle had a prior salvage title. We printed out the history and presented it to him. He has signed the history of the vehicle twice and a copy was provided to him, which is a standard procedure when the vehicle has Prior Salvage title. We have the vehicle history signed by ***** in our records for anyone to see.

The vehicle was inspected (as required by Missouri Law) and, after the funds were released from his Bank Trust, ***** picked up the vehicle and was very excited finally to get his **** Explorer, which he had been anticipating for a few days. When he bought the vehicle, he expressed to us his wish to make some modifications to it, like putting an aftermarket audio and speaker system, which he eventually did in the months ever since. He put an amplifier and woofer system. He came to us a couple of times after he installed the modifications. He had drilled a couple of holes in the roof of the vehicle during the modifications, which had caused leaks causing an electrial issue, which we helped him resolve.

Also, it is very crucial to to note that during these 7 months that ***** has had the vehicle in his possession and usage, he has also had at least two accidents that damaged his vehicle. In the first accident, he broke the front right wheel. We helped him repair that and some related issues to it. In a second accident, he damaged the rear quarter panel of the vehicle. Throughout these months ***** has come to us to help him with any issues that he has caused to his vehicle. We have been very dutiful to him. Actually, for his last repair (over 3 months ago), we still have not received payment from his Bank Trust.

Finally, Ashland Auto Sales wants to reiterate that the **** Explorer was a very strong and reliable vehicle, because it had been owned and operated by one of our mechanics for over two years. It is shocking to us to see this complaint now after 7 months and he . We are ready to supply all the documents to any interested parties. We wish ************************* the best.

    GOD Bless!

I am rejecting this response because: I was not told this was a salvaged title, this business is lying.

On Saturday evening, Feb. 16, I was looking for a car. My mother and I went to ************** and didn&#**;t find anything there. I saw the 2015 Chrysler for $9600, I test drove the car with Amel, a H3432343537**35333431Hman, we drove on the highway and near *******, **. There was no problems with him being in the car. I told him I wanted the car, he let me take the car to get the money and while I was out driving the car it was overheating. I called Amel about this and immediately took it back to the car lot. We finalized the car sale and the mechanic replaced the hose. All together, I spent $9,5**.71 on this vehicle. Once the hose was fixed by the mechanic on my car around 6:30-7, I drove to **** City to drop my son off and the car overheated again and it stopped. I had the H3432343537**35333431Hman and called him, Amel&#**;s, phone number and he said leave the car there. I let the car cool down and left it at home. I went and drove my car back to the lot. The mechanic said there was a headgasket blown and I haven&#**;t had it for long. When I took it back to the lot, there was already someone was there. They said it would take a week to repair my vehicle. They made it seem like it was all my fault. I asked them to change the oil and add new oil and they never got back with me. They are now saying they can&#**;t give me my money back. I would like a refund.

We are shocked that we are receiving this complaint against our dealership because this car has been long fixed.
As soon as ******* indicated that he was having a problem with his car, we asked him to drop it to the dealership promptly.
He dropped it and we diagnosed the problem (a blown head gasket) and began the procedures of repair. It took a week to have the car fixed and repaired properly because a blown engine head gasket involves a lot of work and processes.
For the duration of the repair, ******* was provided with a car from our dealership, as a courtesy. We repaired the car fully and and handed it over to him. We spent  over $1,600 to repair it at our own cost.
A few days after he picked his car, we received this Complaint that he had filed against us in the mail. We were shocked and baffled. We tried to reach him to seek clarification, and he has never responded ever since.
From the very beginning of the process, we took good care of *******. We acted swiftly and fixed his car promptly. We are honest people. We have been in business for 24 years doing honest work helping people with cars across ******** and across the nation.
    GOD bless!

I am rejecting this response because:

This was an issue prior of me purchasing this vehicle. And not to mention I was accused of the head gaskets blowing when I only took the car for an hour before purchasing, it shouldnt matter how much money you all have spent, this would never have been an issue if my car was already maintained properly. I had to travel to ************, ** (an hour and half there and back) to get a part (fuel engine hose) for my car and was not reimbursed. As I stated previously I paid $9,300 for the car plus the service fees (which came up to $135.00). I was told the process would take 3 days, and it took 2 weeks to be serviced, when I tried contacting Ashland Autos to see if my car was ready to be picked up it was always an excuse, the location of my car was disclosed to me for days. I was never the cause of anything they faulted me for in this issue. I tried being very respectful, calm and patient with everyone at the car dealership but once I felt there was no action bring held I took matters into my own hands.

    Sincerely,
