    *** at Gateway took a $5000 deposit to do a job and refuses to do the work or return the deposit. He has done the same with other clients

    I did take the deposit to do the work.  **** was supposed to have plans for the underground utilities so that we could locate those utilities.  When we contacted the general contractor she did not have any plans.  There was no way to locate them without paying for them.  He said he would provide us with plans and the locations would have to spend $2,000 to get a subcontractor to do this and I was not going to pay this.  There were multiple occasions to do the work and try to move forward and I had a lot going on personally and could not make that happen.  I was the only one in my company to locate the lines.  It turned into a big issue.  **** wants his whole deposit back but we have put in $2,000 into the job and there is no way to refund him.  **** has done a bunch of things to us, insulted us beyond belief.  We jumped on this first job we did to irrigate his whole property because it was a referral to us.  They wanted it done immediately and we jumped on it immediately, worked 75 hours a week for a month straight.

    I paid ***************** with Gateway Irrigation $3750.00 on August 2, 2022 which was half of his bid for the installation of a sprinkler system. He said due to staffing issues it could be six weeks until he could start the project. It has now been five months since my payment and nothing has been started. I reached out to *** on November 8, 2022 to request a refund. He replied that he would ***** me a refund minus $1600.00 for equipment and materials he had already purchased ( restocking fees ). I told him if he was still going to put in the system I would wait. He has responded to me immediately every time I have called or texted him until the last time on December 8, 2022. I would like to have the sprinkler system but if thats not going happen, I would like to have a full refund of my deposit.
