8/17/2022 TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, WORSE CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!! Contacted then about a Truck, Ran my credit with 2 different lenders, was already pre-qualified by one of their lenders, Dinged my credit twice before telling the the Truck had sold, Was contacted by 3 people there and none mentioned the truck had sold, I asked for a manager to call me and I was never called, COMPLETLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They should have even ran my credit or had me fill out an application if the truck was sold, I asked for a manager to call and I was not contacted

    Business response

    09/02/2022

This response addresses the Complaint made by **** ******** regarding his experience with JKB Auto Sales on August 17, 2022

**** ******** inquired about a vehicle that was advertised for sale by JKB Auto Sales and subsequently submitted an Application for credit in an attempt to be approved for financing the purchase of the vehicle.

**It should be noted that any time someone submits a Credit Application, whether online or in person, they are giving explicit permission for their credit to be run with various lenders in order to obtain financing. Just because the person does not like the outcome does not mean they can reverse the fact that their credit was run - at their request.

When Sales and Finance personnel from JKB Auto Sales began speaking with **** ********, the vehicle he was interested in had not been sold and was being advertised for sale. The process of running **** ********’s credit with various lenders and waiting for an approval had already begun when another customer came to JKB Auto Sales in person and became interested in purchasing the sale vehicle.

**** ******** did not come to JKB Auto Sales’ place of business in person; his dealings were all handled by internet or by phone. **** ******** did not ever say he definitely wanted to purchase the vehicle, nor did he request that the vehicle be held for him until he could make arrangements to purchase it. If **** ******** had requested that the vehicle be held for him, it is the practice of JKB Auto Sales to require that a non-refundable deposit be made by the customer since the vehicle will no longer be actively advertised for sale at that time. The vehicle would be moved to another location on the premises and marked “not for sale”.  **** ******** at no time stated he definitely wished to purchase the vehicle and that he wanted to place a non-refundable deposit and have the vehicle held for him.

Again, the vehicle was not sold when the process of running **** ********’s credit for purchase approval began.  The customer who came to JKB Auto Sales in person did, however, purchase the vehicle on the same day. We could not tell the other customer that the vehicle was sold when he asked to look at it – because it wasn’t – and we did not know at that time whether **** ******** would be approved to purchase it or if he even would except the finance terms offered.

JKB Auto Sales did nothing at all that was incorrect or unethical in these transactions. I hope this information is sufficient to satisfy The Better Business Bureau’s inquiry.
