On 12/22/2022 at approximately 3:30PM, I came to CT State Police Troop D in ********* to complete a report of identity theft. I became aware my identity was stolen today when I received a phone call from Northtown Mitsubishi in Kansas City, MO reporting they sold two vehicles and were in the process of selling a third to a person using my personally identifying information. The first two vehicles, one of which as a **** ******* Santa Fe, were sold about a month ago. They said the person has my information and a CT driver's license and provided an address of *** **** ***** ****** ** ********** ** *****. The license provided had a first name which was abbreviated which was the first indication the documentation was false as your FULL name IS required for a CT State driver’s license. 1 spoke to the General Manager of the dealership, ***** ******** whose # was *************. He stated the photo on the license was a black male and they never saw him in-person. They are supposedly mailing me a copy of the driver's license that was used. When asked for surveillance or video it was declined. There was no vetting process to verify identification upon vehicle transfer in BOTH instances. Both purchases were made online. The vehicles were financed through ******* ***** and ***** ****. I did not buy these vehicles; my identity has been stolen. notified the credit bureaus and froze my identity. ***** ******* has entered me into a national database which will identify anyone using my information law enforcement reasons. I gave ******* ******* a password which I will never forget. I understand could come up during a traffic stop or at the airport and I will need to provide this password to law enforcement to confirm it is me, not the imposter.

I took my car in for service on 03/18/2022 for a rubber smell I was smelling. The receipt states that they found that the turbo coolant lines seals were leaking replaced the turbo coolant hose and pipe seals, pressure tested found there is no longer a leak. That cost me $615.19 which I paid upon picking my car up. The very next day my husband started our car and smoke was coming from the hood profusely we have a video, I then called the dealership @ 8:37 and *** answered the phone. I explained what happened then he stated that I could get our car towed up there, I then stated I will not you will get my car towed and I will need loaner car he then said let he will have to give me a call back and make sure he has a loaner car. He called me back @ 9:12 gave me the number of the tow company to pick up our car from our address and gave me a loaner car when we got there, I rode with the tow man. *** informed me they have no mechanics on the weekend but he would give me a call Monday and let me know what is going on. That Monday I never received a call which I called them @ 10:16 then *** stated o he is looking at your car right now soon when I find out something I will call you back I said okay. I waited still no call I realized that it pass 3 o'clock and decided to call them back @3:21 and that is when *** stated that his mechanic accidentally punctured a whole in one of the lines while he was fixing the seals for the anti-freeze and they have the parts overnighted and of course there will be no cost to you, I said what he said it nothing major we will get it fixed. So the 22nd I received a call @ 4:48 pm stating that the parts had just came in and that they would start working on it the next day, I said okay. I received a call on the 23rd and they stated it was fixed and to come and pick it up. Right now our car is still there from going back and forth with the same issues since 3/19/2022. Please help us resolve this issue. *** saying no leak we talking strong smell.

    Gentlemen/ Ladies :
Northtowne Alfa Romeo is in receipt of your 4—20—22 letter .
Ms. ****** is a valued customer of Northtowne Alfa Romeo and we are sorry about her recent experience with our company
On 3—18-2022 Ms. ******** 201B Alfa Romeo arrives with a burning smell that Ms. ****** noticed when vehicle was stopped.
The Alfa Romeo technician immediately saw an obvious problem: the ' coolant' line to the engine' s turbocharger was leaking coolant Coolant has leaked down to lower parts of the engine, where the hot—exhaust pipes created a burning smell .
The turbocharger coolant leak was repaired, and like many engine leaks — it sometimes can take a few miles or hours of driving for all of the fluid to 'burn off' the hot exhaust pipes and the smell might linger a while .
    Backstory of Turbochargers
These are installed on a performance vehicle' s engine to enhance the performance of the car' s engine .
Turbochargers are cooled by water/ coolant— and — they have oil fed to them 'separate/ from the water/ coolant — to lubricate the inside of the turbocharger. These two items are separate — but — they both are related to the engine' s turbocharger .
      Page One of Three
When the WATER leak to the turbocharger was repaired, it was noted at the time Ms. ***** came to pickup her vehicle from service that a smell was still present.
This smell was NOW discovered to be an 'oil seal' to the line that feeds oil to the turbocharger . An entirely different repair from the 'coolant/ leak .
Note: This 'oil seal' was NOT damaged by the technician that repaired the WATER leak — it was a 'rubber seal' and it is apparent that it had been leaking for quite some time .
As stated above, the oil seal to the turbocharger had apparently leaked for some time. Reason: down below the turbo charger, the oil had 'baked' onto the exhaust pipes . Pictures are available to verify this .
Northtowne Alfa Romeo replaced the oil seal to the turbo at no charge to Ms. ****** .
Ms. ****** was provided a loaner car while her car was being worked on .
    Moving Forward
On 3—23—2022, Ms. ****** returned the car again, and stated that the 1 smell' was still present .
At this time, there were NO mechanical issues, meaning no leaks or engine work needed— but— the baked—on oil that existed from the first visit was not completely dissipated off the exhaust pipes . So the smell will be present until it is completely and finally 'cooked' off the exhaust pipes .
The only alternate : spend $ 1,000' s to needlessly replace the exhaust pipes .
It is important to note that Ms. ******' s vehicle was raised in the air and the underside and exhaust pipes were power washed extensively— in an effort to clean off what we could.
    Closing
The turbocharger oil leak was not the fault of the repair shop technician — as it had been present for a good while .
    Page rrwo of THREE
The turbo OIL LEAK was repaired at no charge. The loaner car was supplied at no charge. Northtowne picked up the car from Ms. ******' s workplace ( *** ***** ******** ) as her concern over the 'smell' was addressed.
Northtowne Alfa Romeo spent many, many hours in trying to resolve the concern for the 'smell' and to provide pickup and delivery OE her vehicle from her workplace. All at no charge
Ms. ****** does some important and valuable work for the community — and this circumstance was unfortunate— but — it was resolved at great time and expense to the business .
Northtowne believes that she will now be able to enjoy and rely on this 'fun and exciting' Italian sports car as the issues with the turbocharger' s oil and water leaks are currently resolved.
