I purchased a Car and Throughbred Ford in Platte City on 06/15/2024. They took possession of a trade in vehicle at this time and had until 06/28 to pay this off and we were supposed to come the following monday to get the key and the title to thr vehicle I purchased. Monday came and went and we could not get them to give me the title or give me the spare key and kept getting blown off. Rather, we spent the next week and a half emailing and calling both asking why the trade in was not paid off and when I would be getting the title for the vehicle I purchased. Only to get excuses and find out they never submitted the loan paperwork to our lender at all - we came with our own financing and when they DID actually submit it it was processed within hours. We did finally get the key and title and the dealer then proceeded to SHORT pay the trade in after paying it AFTER thr payoff date forcing me to get a skip payment as the monthly payment was due on the first and they actually told me to NOT pay it knowing it would report on mr as a late payment. They owe the current balance of the vehicle they negligently did not pay on time which likely will be more by the time the bother to resolve the issue.

The customer visited Thoroughbred Ford of Platte City and selected a vehicle to consider. They elected to take the vehicle home overnight. The next day they returned and purchased a different vehicle. The vehicle had originally been part of the inventory at Thoroughbred Ford at I-29 and Barry Road, so the dealership in Platte City did not have the second set keys.

The dealership fax funded the paperwork USAA the next day. A week passed and the dealership had not been funded by USAA. The finance manager, *****, called the customer because the dealership had not received funding for the vehicle. The customer called USAA and got additional information on how to proceed with USAA and the dealership completed that paperwork and received funding the next day, which was June 28.

The dealership contacted the customer to relay that the funding had come through, and the customer returned the next day and picked up the paperwork and the second set of keys. There was a payment that was due. The dealership has a form, which was signed by the customer, stating that the paperwork including title work could take up to 30 days, and the finance manager stated that it often takes 15 days.

The new General Manager at Thoroughbred Ford of Platte City plans to reach out to the customer to attempt to resolve this matter.

The GM spoke with the customer and agreed to pay the late fee and to give the customer a free oil change. It is my understanding that this complaint has been fully resolved.

Took my car in for some recalls which was a nightmare in itself. Supposedly my car wouldn’t start to move from the terminal and the positive cable to the battery was so corroded *** ***** recommended I change it. I paid $205 to get that changed. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, my car won’t start, bad battery and it’s not even a year old. The so called new cable is covered in electrical tape and the post connector was spray painted black and the mechanic I took it to said it had not been replaced. Called *** ***** right away who was going to make it right because he saw an issue that the tech didn’t even replace the cable just the post connect and was going to credit me $105, I said well I didn’t even get a new post connect it’s black. *** ***** stated a new connector would be shiny. He said forward me the pictures and I will get back to you Monday. Monday comes no call, my husband and myself both left voicemails. Then the so called service manger ***** ***** called my husband and was saying he had 30 years experience and backs up his employees and they did their job right, saying it was the cable that was replaced and the black is a corrosion inhibitor. I did not get what I paid for and ***** ***** felt crediting me $77.50 was fair. Seriously, I am beyond mad that I paid for a service that I did not get and ***** ****** attitude was not necessary.
