Bought a puppy from petland NKC. The dog was sick so we took to a veterinarian. Tried contacting the office on paperwork and was told over the phone we had a claim. Email is incorrect on paperwork and phone number is no longer answered.

They sold me a puppy in their NKC store saying she was a purebred chow chow. They gave me pictures of her and her mom and dad. I had also got ahold of the breeder on ******** asking for more pictures. My puppy has a spotted tongue and she is over 6 months. If a chow has a pink spotted tongue after 6 months old they are not a purebred chow. I was looking in the Oklahoma ********** and saw an ad for a chow puppy that was 8 weeks old, from the same breeder and it had the same parents. It is physically impossible for a dog to have 2 liters so close together so my dog has fraudulent papers because the breeder they are using is passing off her puppies with all the same paperwork. I would never have paid $1500 for a mix breed dog, maybe $500 but not $1500. I have contacted Petland for the past month and then they told me to get ahold of claims and warranty, so I did and she sent me right back to Petland. I have been getting a run around for a month and I have done everything but beg them. They wont let me talk to anyone they always refer me back to claims and warranty and then they dont answer for weeks and when they do, they send me back to Petland.

There is definitely a misunderstanding. The pet was sold as a companion NOT a show dog. Neither showing or breeding is guaranteed. The customer signed a warranty accepting this. Pricing as was paid is typical of a purebred OR a designer breed. Please also note that a "flowered tongue" does not mean the pet is not purely bred. It is a flaw, thus no showing or breeding, but does not indicate the pet is a mixed breed. The customer needs to consider further research.
It is also important to note that the Claims Center referred the customer to the store because she had been assisted at the store and didn't want to create confusion. They wanted the customer to have the best service possible and having only one point of contact did that.
The customer has not presented any information to indicate that they have not gotten the pet they were supposed to get. We are sincerely sorry for their frustration but there is nothing further to be done for the claim. We will continue to adhere to our warranty.

I would also like to point out that the pet was purchased at a different location. It was purchased at the Petland in Kansas City. Their address is **** * ********* **** ****** ***** ** *****. It was NOT purchased from Petland in **** *******. Any complaints should be directed towards the correct store.

    Thank you,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The dog is not a purebred dog, I believe the papers are phony and I was told she was a purebred chow and she is not. I have sent in a DNA test and waiting for the results! I didn't buy a "designer dog" I thought I was buying a purebred chow and if the DNA comes back and proves that she is not, I want something taken off the price of her, if it does then I will gladly close the case. Also I think they need to investigate this breeder!! She is falsifying documents and I did send the proof of that. She is saying the same parents are having both liters, so something needs to be checked into! If they dont it shows their integrity and that they really dont care if they are a fraud! This isnt going away! When someone pays $1500 for a dog they should get what they pay for and that is in this case a purebred chow chow!

    Regards,
