This has been one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Despite having other options, we went with Timber Warriors after a recent hurricane hit our area, purely because we were asked to use their service by our insurance company as they are a preferred vendor. This was a mistake. Weeks of missed appointments and crews showing up unprepared led to a subcontractor finally being sent weeks later. While the initial tree work was completed, we have additional funds of $1500 as part of our insurance coverage that can be used for cleanup of debris on the premises. I confirmed with the adjuster that these additional funds could be used to have the tree service provide cleanup on the remainder of the yard. I confirmed this with the subcontractor, who estimated it would cost a total of $800 and advised Timber confirmed it would be billed to the insurance. The next day, the crew showed up to let us know that not only was none of the additional cleanup going to be done, but they spent 3 hours driving a small portion of a tree to a dump site and Timber notified them they had no remaining funds and needed to move to their next job site. We were never notified of this action being taken by either the subcontractor nor Timber. We also never gave consent to use the additional funds for hauling wood anywhere as pickup was already being provided by the city. When trying to recoup the funds from Timber, i was constantly blown off by some of the rudest, most condescending customer service reps **** interacted with. Multiple promised follow up calls never took place, and we were eventually told "We're sorry you feel this way, but the funds are gone and there is nothing we can do". They also claimed we were lying about our conversation with the subcontractor and added they are not responsible for the actions of their subs. We have yet to resolve this issue and the additional hurricane cleanup will now come out of pocket given they have apparently disappeared into this company.

Horrible company. One worker showed up about noon, waited for several hours till one more person showed up to help, that guy stood around, did nothing. Another helper showed up and also did nothing. The main worker then started setting everything up. The tree was finally removed around 5:30pm. The large branch was cut up into logs and they couldnt haul it away. They do the minimalist job and ridiculously over charge. I was never given an estimate. If Im responsible for whatever my insurance company doesnt pay, I should have the right to see an estimate of what Im looking at paying and if I want to proceed. This company doesnt do that. Charge for 3 workers when only 1 did the work, is ridiculous. The worker filling out the time of actual work needs to be more honest. Above all, when I communicate to the company that I dont have $4,000+, I received a voicemail that asked what payment installments Im wanting. I write an email back, stating the payments I can afford. They then write back and tell me they dont do installments! In this day in age, what company thinks people have this much money laying around and dont offer installments? Horrible customer service!

In our Work Authorization we outline to insured-homeowners, in this case **************, that we perform work at request of the insurance company and must do all work within the limitations of the policy; that any balance uncovered by the insurance company will be the insured-homeowners'responsibility, such as an insurance deductible which is due in full.
In ****************** case, there was a deductible with this claim which is the dollar amount referenced to.

We are unable to offer payment plans for deductibles, as we are not the 'appointer,' if you will.

However, we can offer payment plans for any amount due that is not considered a deductible amount.

Lastly, our records do not indicate that we received a request for an estimate. Also, our notes indicate that we did receive a high "Customer Satisfaction" score from ************** at the time work was completed, so it seems our services didn't cause discontent. But, given ****************** concerns, we can promptly bring this to the attention of the insurance company and assigned adjuster.

******** states that the conversation was on a recorded line -this is true. Timber Warriors records its calls for standard quality and training purposes; and we've reviewed the recording once more, ahead of our response below to check for accuracy.

We spoke with ******** Tree July 8 - before we learned of their comment to BBB - to discuss the job in question. At this time, we shared that we did not have any record or evidence of a price/bid submitted. We referenced to a previous phone call, near the time of the job, in which we confirmed hours worked; no concerns about a price/bid were raised at that time.Despite this, we ended the call stating that we would continue our search to be sure and follow up the next day, July 9.

In a phone call the following day, we shared that our search came up short. We still found no record or evidence that a price/bid was submitted.Additionally, we welcomed ******** to provide some trace of the price/bid while on the phone (maybe a screenshot of the text messages ******** was referencing to), and they were unable to do so.

Summary: We did not agree to a price with ******** because one was not recorded. Furthermore, our standard process is to use an hourly rate, so without a specific conversation or request, we would naturally proceed with our regular process (which is acknowledged and agreed upon in our Contractor Agreement).

Lastly, a critical detail to note - and this was shared once more with ******** in the phone calls on July 8th and 9th -is that we did not receive photos (as required) of the job in question from ********. This required step is not only outlined in our Contractor Agreement, but heavily communicated and requested in many communications and notifications to our crews from the time an Agreement is signed, to job assignment through completion. This was a missed requirement and is one that has serious consequences to our operations, and in turn, payment process time. Despite this fact, they were paid timely.

We are not refusing to pay; in fact, we recently **** up an additional invoice to send an offering of $400 to ********, in hopes to resolve the matter. In the phone call on July 9, ******** agreed that this was fair, stating that it would resolve issues -it was appreciated and would help.

We have done work for timber warriors as a sub contractor and for homeowners as well as tree services I highly caution you to not work with this company. They will bill the insurances many many thousands of dollars and will pay your company if they do Pennies on the dollar. They were supposed to pay within two weeks and had been doing til our first out of town deployment. During the deployment we were told it would now be 40 days. Thats not how a business should operate. Because of this company I am now having to sell my family home and it has definitely been over 40 days and I have still not been paid for 80 percent of that work. Just to give you an idea. A job in our own state on a regular day that would be at 3000 you may be lucky for them to pay 1800 and dont forget you are out wear and tear on your expensive equipment going out of town as well as extra money for your guys going out of town and you have to pay for a place to stay. So his company is unethical and will call you hundreds of times a day while you are out making them money but when you call to find out where your money is they send you to a voicemail over and over and over. I am now having to get an attorney involved and have already asked for lein letters to be put on the homeowners we worked for as at this point who knows if payments are coming. We work for the cable and internet company ******* and even they pay us on time and much more reasonably that this company. I would want someone to give me a heads up so I am giving you one. Timber warriors you owe me money and it is disgusting what you are doing to small family businesses. You should be ashamed

Although 14 days is impressive, it is certainly an exception, likely due to the slow fall and winter seasons the industry experienced October through March. Fourteen days is not our standard operating procedure, nor promise. Yet,"within 40 days" always has been.

Also very relevant: Our payment guidelines and prerequisites are very clear. Crews must provide their required "Documentation" (for us this would be things such as Certificate of Insurance, W9, etc.) and job photos before the payment process *** begin. This crew was late with some of these prerequisites on a recent dispatch (April 2024); payment process *** be delayed as a result.

However, this crew IS paid up. Additionally, we did our best to issue payment so that current **** delays would have little-to-no impact.

One other important thing to note: If there were liens on homes we would likely know about it, because as the legal contractor, we would have to participate in the process and communications with our customer. Since such has not happened, it leads us to, at the very least, question if this statement is current or accurate.

If it is, then of course it is a positive that this was brought to our attention, because liens should not be an option if payment status is "Paid In Full" for example. It's in our best interest that our customers do not experience a lien attempt; that would be erroneous.

Therefore, we will begin working to reverse any communication or other damage (if any) that could have come from the remark.

Terrible is the best description. Were supposed to leave huge tree cut and neatly stacked on edge of property. It was left in the middle of the yard. Left huge ruts in my grass. Cut down blackberry bushes. Honestly don't know why. Were supposed to mitigate my roof. DID NOT fully cover hole!! Don't use these people

After reviewing the homeowner's claims, we conducted an additional internal audit of the job and here are the results that we found. We placed a very adequate tarp . We are a tree removal vendor that provides a tarp service to secure a hole that was caused by the tree. This required more work than a temporary tarp, which is the service we provide to the carrier, we informed the homeowner that they should try to find a contractor to build a small structure around the roof and that it would be out of our scope of tarping. Timber Warriors still did place a temporary tarp to secure the hole and prevent more damage. Regarding the damage to the yard, the home was deep in a wooded area, and the entirety of the yard was mud. Timber Warriors is an emergency tree removal company, and our goal is to get the tree off the house and secure the damages. This does come with foreseen conditions, and due to the whole yard being only dirt, and the heavy saturation, the ground was muddy, and our equipment used to remove the tree did cause ruts in the yard. The homeowner also stated that the logs were not neatly stacked and in the middle of their yard. If you refer to the photos attached, you can see that the logs are neatly cut and stacked. A homeowners HO3 policy does not allow the relocation of logs or debris, it is to chop and drop, and provide a $500 debris removal limit. We actually go over and above the homeowner's policy limits by cutting the logs and stacking them, as the insurance company does not authorize or pay for this. We did have to cut the bushes and brush because they were thorny, and they had to be removed in order to remove the tree off of the structure for the insurance company who hired us to do the work and pay for the job.

We feel that Timber Warriors followed the scope of work given by the insured's insurance company, and even went over and above in certain areas.

A large oak tree fell on my house during a windstorm. My insurance told me that they work with Timber Warriors. So I trusted them. They were to remove the tree and tarp the house, 930 square feet. It took them three days. I visited every day. They had a 5 person crew, 4 of which appeared to be in there early 20's and everyone was standing around or sitting in my outdoor seating. One even brought a pet racoon and was constantly watching it. In the end, they broke stones on my fire pit, left food wrapper trash on my property, left the entire tree in my yard and charged $36,000.00. This is outrageous. I am told this should have cost *****K. I feel taken advantage of and robbed.

Subcontracted out work for a neighbors tree that fell through my house. They gave the contractor 275$ for a 1500$ tarp job to cover the house. They also told him to take it off the house and leave everything in my yard. Again, this was a neighbors tree. The company who actually came out and did the work had to fight with them to get the correct payment and he went above and beyond what they asked him to do. He told me his name and company was attached to this job and he refused to do what they (TW) asked, as it was not the right thing to do.This was just the beginning. I received an email from Timber Warriors that contained a satisfaction survey. They called my cell later that day and told me the following. "You have to fill out that survey or your claim will not be processed." They tried to coerce and threaten me to fill out a survey! I have contacted my lawyer over this and will proceed with legal action.
