I ordered bantam chicks from Cackle last year and I never received the order. Lost some where I guess. I was going to order some turkey polts this season but there are to many extra fees. Shipping fees, small order fees, plus they even want an Alaska fee. Just a little ridiculous if you ask me.

I'm very sorry you had this experience, I do see we refunded the order last year that never arrived. We have implemented an "Alaska" fee for many years. This fee is to help offset some overall expenses we continue to incur servicing Alaska orders.Review from Joshua N

This is my 2nd time ordering from Cackle Hatchery. The first time was a great experience. I had ordered about 18 sexed layers and they were all healthy and all females. This time I ordered an assortment of 16 chicks (all but 4 being sexed) and I got 8 roosters....not what I was hoping for! I'm very sorry you're unhappy with your experience however, there was only one breed ordered sexed and you ordered 4 of them, the Black Laced Silver Wyandottes. The remaining breeds ordered, White Crested Black Polish, Crazy Cackle Toppies, and the F2 Olive Eggers are all offered straight run only at the time you placed your order. Unfortunately, we do not guarantee a ration on straight run breeds.Review from Dee Y

Our 10 hens and 1 rooster have thrived, are very lovely, healthy birds, and are now giving us 6-7 eggs per day at week 21. The Dominiques are a very sweet breed, will eat out our hands, but are not thrilled to be picked up. They are curious however and will jump on your lap voluntarily. We haven't yet had any problems with them. They are so good to put themselves to bed each night. Our 5 geese are doing well but there is one we named "***" who seems to struggle a bit. He (we think he is a he) is larger than the others and seems to have a little trouble getting his big body moving around as easily as the other four do. He's always the last one in line and the other geese almost seem to shame him. One female is experimenting with flying and can get up in the air about 20 feet and out of the fenced area quite easily. After escaping one day, she met up with the neighbor's very large dog. She lost a few feathers but luckily we were on the spot to mitigate any serious harm. The dog really just wanted to play with the goose, but he is a very big, but nice dog and very much like a bull in a china closet. The encounter did scare the goose enough so that for now she stays in the two-acre fenced area, but does like to fly from one end to the other, always stopping at the fenceline.Cackle Hatchery, LLC Response

Ordered 4 female lavender Americanas and they arrived healthy and so cute. They are very sweet birds who come to their names and love to be held. They are 5 months old and should be laying any day now. We expect blue eggs any day now. We bought 3 other chicken breeds and they all are living their best chicken life in our big run and coop. Its been a week and now they are laying in the nesting boxes we built. We would definitely buy from cackle hatchery again. They are all 13 females that were shipped.Cackle Hatchery, LLC Response

My daughter fell in love with Jubilee Orpingtons. After much research, we chose Cackle Hatchery and were very pleased we did. We ordered 10 straight run and were pleasantly surprised to receive 12. Six pullets and six roosters. They are gorgeous, pleasant birds. The roosters are calm. The coloring as they matured is beautiful! We are looking forward to the hens to start laying shortly. Got three olive egg chicks. Unfortunately they were un-sexed and all three turned out to be roosters, so there will be no olive eggs to enjoy. In fact the majority of chicks received turned out to be roosters. I will not buy any egg layers in the future that are not sexed.Cackle Hatchery, LLC Response
