    When Hawkins Tree Service took down a tree in the yard of our backyard neighbor (**** ******* *****) on Thursday, January 27, they cut the power line to our house at **** * ****** ******. When **** ********* restored power to our house, the power surge blew out our heating system, our microwave, and our tabletop radio/music device. As a result of the power surge, we had to replace our heating system transformer (cost=261.39) and the microwave (cost=110.16). Additionally, our Crosley Musician Entertainment Center (radio, turntable, CD player, tape player) no longer works as it was on the same circuit as the microwave oven. The replacement cost on the Crosley unit is approx. 197.10 plus tax. Damages total approx. $568.65. My husband spoke with Hawkins Tree Service on several occasions and they told him that we would hear from their insurance company. We have never heard from their insurance company and now it appears that this tree company may have gone out of business. When we call their number, we get a message telling us to leave a message and they will return our call, but then their voice mailbox is full so we cannot leave a message. Their webpage link from the BBB website is a dead link. We want Hawkins Tree Service or their insurance company to reimburse us for our loss due to their negligence.

    I am so sorry you have called without getting ahold of us. We check calls and voicemail and I have no messages in the voicemail so I'm very sorry about that. We are still in business. I turned the claim over to insurance and did give the information of our insurance to handle this situation right away. We were told they would take care of this. Please call back so we can further discuss this situation please.

    I am rejecting this response because:  Again this morning, I called the phone number listed on their business card ************.  Again, I get the recording that the MAIL BOX IS FULL AND CANNOT ACCEPT VOICEMAIL MESSAGES, so I cannot leave my phone number.  The company can reach me at ************.  We would like to resolve this insurance claim without further involvement of the BBB but the inability to leave a voicemail message for this company leaves us with no alternative but the continue this communication with the BBB.

    Once I passed it to the insurance they handle all that. I have no further involvement on the claim. I will contact you when I can see what to do. We have never done this before with insurance so I'm not exactly sure what to do but I can make some calls the insurance people and see what we need to do on our end. No one officially contacted you so this causes us concerns,these are matters in which insurance handles. We are not sure so I need some time to see how to proceed so we don't interfere with anything we are not educated on like insurance. We are busy and trying to get to everyone that needs assistance as quickly as we can and in no means trying to make this difficult and we are so sorry for the wait. I will try to get answers and make this priority first thing Monday morning. Thank you.

    This complaint has not been resolved. Here is the letter from their insurance company regarding this claim.  Please add this document to your complaint file. They are only willing to fix the power line.

    We are trying to see what can be done or how to handle this because we have never had to deal with this before. I wanted to check all policies and see if we had the correct coverage. It is a loop hole and we don't know how to handle this. It is not as easy as just fix it. We have to make sure we are doing things the correct way and we have to get help for this situation.
