The architect needed three changes on the plans, I gave the engineer a $1000.00 check and then today they called and stated they needed $30,000.00. They stated that the $1000.00 to make the changes was non refundable and they never stated that once. I want my $1000.00 back and I will find someone else to do the work.

    Business response

The client, a business owner by the name of *******************, requested an inspection on a land development he owns, the inspection was un-refundable, he was clearly told, he knew it, furthermore it was clearly stated. We visit the site, I noticed in the complain he choose not to mention the fact we were with him on site.

We communicated with MSD pertaining issues related to the specifics of this project, that took engineering effort, should not be for free , we evaluated the requested Civil works impact, we make a short but important study, we realized that other companies had turned down **************** due to the stability issues in leveling the hill, next to a creek, as per his request. We invested over 20 hours from visiting to gathering information. Even when this was a risky project, we proceeded to provide a quote, and **************** rejected the quote, out of anger or any other motivation he requested the un-refundable fee.

**************, knew the inspection was NOT to be refunded, at HomeAdvisors as well as Angies list we specifically indicate that we charge a non-refundable fee for traveling, expending time on site and performed further review of the work. In the 30 years I have beed doing this inspections this is the second time this happened. My previous issue was with a home owner, I have make a point thru the years to make it clear this is not refundable. Mr ******* could had call me directly, I never get a call, just the complaint. Since this is B2B I am choosing to see his response, retaliation is not the answer, he choose this path, I am easy and could had done this in a very amicable way. His desire and need to be externally satisfied and also h/is feelings are shown on his complain.

Inspections are NON-Refundable, specially if you choose to do me damage.
