We submitted an application to adopt a dog by the name of *********************. We were contacted by them fairly quickly and determined the dog would not be a good fit with our two cats and senior dog. They suggested a dog named Carp who is a pit bull mix with boxer but they labeled her as Terrier and they assured us she is laid back, potty trained, very gentle and gets along with all animals. And assured us she had no aggression. We made the two hour trip to meet her and fell in love with her instantly. We brought her home and she was fine day one. But we went to work Monday and I even let them know about our work schedules and how I make it home every lunch to take care of them and are only left alone a few hours a day. They advised us to have both dogs in separate rooms while in the introductory phase. Well I came home Monday afternoon this week to our door being broken almost in half where she had eatten through the wood and escaped. And both dogs were fighting so I had to keep breaking those up. I ran to get a kennel in a hurry and the dog had managed to eat through the metal and was out when I got home that evening, we were unable to get into our house safely due to the fighting and all of the destruction. I tried to call and communicate our struggles and they were quick to blame our senior dog, and started saying things like we shouldnt have gotten this dog while we had another? But they assured us she was familiar with dogs and it would not be a problem. Everything they had told us was a lie and it left our house in shambles and our animals are all traumatized. I tried to contact them to come get the dog since we were not comfortable making that trip with this aggressive dog in our car while we drove that distance and I never heard back. We had to have animal control reprimand the dog and they have taken her to Coles county shelter. Still have not heard anything from this shelter
