Hi There,I have built a house with Fischer homes in *********************. When the time of selections for the items for the new built house, I was not provided an option to have zoning system or damper system or even two story two HVAC upgrades. They claimed that they are not offering because their house is energy star rated and St. Louis county gives them credit for being energy saving rated house. They said that one HVAC should be sufficient for my two story house but during this summer months I have seen overheating on the second floor where as first floor is super cool when thermostat is set up at ***** F. When I filed a complaint with Fischer they inspected and send *************** to look at the house temperature. They recommended me to purchase camper system that cost 6800$. Which I think is unfair is because Fischer had derailed me into wrong directions and cheated me stating that this house is energy star rated, which I think is not at all. I have a house in ******** which is more efficient than built by Fischer. My bills has gone high and hard to live in this house. My request is that Fischer has to pay the bill for installing damper system as they have cheated us and make a wrong claim.

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

Fischer Homes has aquired our HVAC trade partner's service records for this home and found that the technician reported that the *** (airflow) ratings were within the Energywise program standards. The upgrade offer he made was for the comfort level the customer requested.

However, ********************** is working with our third party enginering firm who design our Manual J ductwork systems along with our HVAC trade partner to further evaluate our customer's current system. The blower door test passed, but in an effort to accomodate our customer's concerns, we will dig into this home's system even more.

We will be contacting our customer as soon as we have more information.

Our goal is to achieve 100% customer satisfaction, so we will work diligently with our partners to resolve this matter.

    Regards,

    Fischer Homes

We have been trying to get a window replaced in one of our townhome bedrooms now for over two years. We purchased the home in March or 2022. We did our 3 month inspection warranty and mentioned it then to the Site Manger and company. They said to bring it back up at our 1 year warranty inspection. We did this in Feb of 2023. We have been thru multiple site managers with this company and the window installers have been out multiple times as well with no window installed. Each time we are told that either they ordered the wrong window or they do not have that one in stock yet. The last response from one of the site managers was in Feb or this year, we were told that they had found the window and have contacted the company that makes it and will get it installed for us when it arrives. It is now May of 2024 and I contacted the site manger and was told today that he had heard back from Chic the company that has the window and the previous service manager never placed the order.

Roof leak reported as a warranty claim in May/June 2023 after we moved in to our new home. It is October now. Issue still not resolved. By warranty, we should have had this fixed by now. Roof leak much worse now. Ceiling in master bath and hall bath much worse. Plumber was supposed to come last week. Never showed up. Construction manager not interested much. Roof leak has been there for 5 months. I have been compliant with inspections and repairs. Now the house needs water damage evaluation and mold evaluation. I have been very patient but the response has been VERY VERY slow resulting in likely damage to the property.

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

Fischer Homes has reviewed the warranty matter sent in by our customer. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to their dissatisfaction.

We do apologize for the time it’s taken to resolve the matter; however, our records show that our roofing trade partner did perform work on the home more than once during this time. The trade partner thought they’d discovered the source and made the necessary warranty repairs. Unfortunately, this did not solve the issue.

On a return site visit the roofing trade partner climbed into the attic area and discovered the drip was coming from a PVC passive radon pipe. Condensation on the interior side of the pipe was dripping through a seam in a PVC fitting.
This has been repaired and our Field Manager will be scheduling the warrantable paint and drywall repairs with our customer.

Fischer Homes takes pride in our Customer Satisfaction and again apologizes for the time involved in completing this matter. It’s unfortunate that the original warranty repairs did not resolve the drips occurring in the attic, but Fischer would never cease efforts to complete our warranty obligations to our customer.

Thank you again for your service to both customers and businesses.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The roof has been leaking since at least May 2023. We noticed it when we moved in.

There was effort by Fischer homes to resolve it. However, there was limited follow up.

I had to make the construction manager follow through with every step of the process.

Appointments were made hastily or "left up in the air" until the last moment. There was an instance when I waited at home the whole day for workers to show up because the construction manager did not know when they would show up. Nobody came that day. I was not notified.

Thursday one week ago is when the stain on the ceiling began to enlarge more quickly after a rain. I also noted water on the wall in another room. I contacted the construction manager. I was told that workers would "maybe" come on Monday. When I asked for a clarification, none came. Sunday night, another rain, water stains on the ceiling and wall got even bigger (2 rooms). I called the emergency service with Fischer, and I got zero response from them. Only after posting a complaint on BBB website did I get folks in my home to fix the leak.

Fischer Homes is a business that lacks initiative and follow through. Because of neglecting to address this problem promptly, I will have to assess for water damage and test for mold.

The business also believes that I will be at home at the edge of my seat to wait for workers to come 24/7. There is no respect for my time and no follow through unless it is forced. Sometimes multiple text messages or phone calls needed to follow up with the business about repair process.

I filed this complaint due to an accumulation of problems with follow through and follow up.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

Fischer Homes agrees that there were issues that should have been handled in a more timely manner. The associate responsible for this warrantable service will receive additional training in the very near future. This matter will be completed ASAP and we will have a Corporate Customer Care Manager reach out to her directly.

Fischer Homes prides itself on receiving consistent high customer satisfaction ratings, and this will be dealt with accordingly.

    Sincerely,

    Fischer Homes

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

In addition to educating staff, a plan should be put in place on how to address potentially property damaging issues. Moreover, the company should conduct official water damage survey and mold evaluation. Finally, Fischer Homes should hold itself responsible of the water damage and mold issues their delayed response has caused. Delays in addressing emergent or urgent issues are not acceptable for a property under warranty. My communication with company representatives has been unsatisfactory to say the least.

A business with A+ BBB rating ought to take responsibility for their shortcomings.

    Sincerely,

The biggest mistake of our lives was signing a contract with Fischer in September 2021. It has been 9 months and we still have no footings. Lots around us that signed 7 months AFTER us have more finished than we do!!!! On top of this we were told our house would be done in June/July. I am 7 months pregnant and we have no home now for our future baby. We are now told if we are lucky our house will be done in October. On top of this we’ve had to pay over $6,000 to lower our APR points and $3,000 to lock in our rate EARLY in our OWN money because we couldn’t lock in our APR RATE because of excuses and inappropriate delays. WE WANT THIS MONEY REIMBURSED. Communication has been awful and we literally have no idea what’s going on ever. I have never been so disappointed in a company. I will be going to the news.

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

A Fischer Homes associate in the greater Cincinnati corporate office has reached out to our customer a few times via voicemail. This associate is responsible for having a verbal discussion the customer about this matter and work towards an amicable resolution.

Fischer Homes will respond again once this conversation has taken place.

    Thank you,

We have had numerous issues with our house that conveniently occurred right after the 1-year warranty, 2 of which had to do with the roof. The house is barely 2 years old and should not be having any sort of roof issues. A "courtesy" visit was made, and the representative who came to look at the rough determined that there were multiple issues with the roof due to subpar contracting work by the roofer. After speaking to the representative, he told me that he would be sending the roofer out to fix the issues. After repeatedly contacting Fischer Homes, they informed us that they will not send anyone out to fix the issues, despite admission that the issues were due to incomplete work by the contracted company.

    Business response

    06/07/2022

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

Fischer Homes appreciates the opportunity to research this customer’s matter and respond accordingly.

Our Customer Care team member did make a courtesy visit to this home that actually closed with ***** ****** ***** in February of 2020. He investigated the leak that the homeowner believed was from the original trade partner’s workmanship.
He went on the roof and determined that the leak was more than likely coming from a different turtle vent that was installed by a friend or family member. The customer explained that the vent had blown free in an extreme wind event. The Customer Care Manager noticed that the installation was with screws and washers that did not have any sealant applied to them.

He discussed what he observed with the division Construction Manager and due to there not being any roof issues reported until well over one year past the actual warranty period, it was not a warrantable item.

Fischer Homes has a very high Customer Satisfaction rating, and we always honor those items that we believe should be considered a warrantable item. This matter is not, so we respectfully denied this warranty request.

    Thank you for your service.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

    - the original roofer did not complete the work as necessary, therefore Fischer is in breach of contract

    - the representative specifically told us that he would be contacting the original roofer to send them back out to complete the unfinished work

    Better Business Bureau,

Fischer Homes has again reviewed this out of warranty claim and deemed that our original response is correct. The attached notes from the Fischer associate that made the courtesy visit does not imply that he was sending the roofer to make repairs. The notes specifically say that this is not a warrantable matter.

    Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:

Once again, the work was not completed at the time of closing - thus making it warrantable, since it was never complete to begin with.
