I purchased a scooter with cash and went to the store to pick it up. I was shown how to take it apart and reassemble it but the salesman&#**;s never told me how to use it properly. I&#**;ve tipped over twice at the hospital and seriously injured my nose. I&#**;m a cancer patient.

From my google review: I rented a lift chair from MediEquip prior to my hip replacement surgery. I paid $330 as a monthly rental fee - a lot of money for me. I arrived home from the hospital on a Saturday, and after being dropped off by friends, I settled into the chair and reclined it. 20 minutes later the power went out. I was STUCK. I googled what to do before calling the (closed) business. No answer, so I called the other location. The outgoing message said that if I had an “emergency with any of their equipment” to call a different number, I called that number and the message stated “we’ll call you on our next business day”. It wasn’t until over an hour later that friends returned to help me (in the middle of a storm and many power outages). They discovered a battery back up on the chair. There were NO batteries in it. With help, I was able to get out the chair. Fast forward to today - Thursday - I finally get a call back. The woman was very rude, and said, “We don’t tell people about the battery backup, because it doesn’t always work.” What?!?! Isn’t like saying, “So, I’m renting you an apartment with a smoke detector, but it’s your responsibility to put a battery in it. [after the unit catches on fire].” That doesn’t happen in real life (because it’s illegal), but this business is apparently above the requirement to rent safe equipment. I asked for a partial courtesy credit for the malfunction and the incredible stress that I went through in this situation, and was told “it wasn’t their fault the power went out.” Right. This company sells medical mobility and SAFETY equipment. They will pocket your money and run, trust me. It’s documented here and in prior reviews. And it will be documented with BBB next.

    Dear customer,

We are sorry for your experience but please check the information for the company that you are making payments to and who provided the equipment. Mediquip solutions does not rent or provide equipment to customers, we provided hospitals with equipment and do not work with chair lifts of any sort. As of last year , the owner of the company has passed away and the company was no longer in business. So again sorry for your experience but no business was conducted with our company. Please check the name of the company and who your making payments to again as there is another company close to our name but is not mediquipsolutions.

    MediEquip Inc.
    ***** ********** **** *** ****** ** ***** ********* *** ********

    To Whom It May Concern:

We are very sorry to hear that Ms. ***** has had such a difficult time with her rental recliner chair.  At MediEquip, we do pride ourselves on the quality of our rental equipment.  Between each use, the chairs are cleaned and tested to make sure that they are in proper working order.  We do our very best to make sure that people can rely on the equipment.
It is a very unfortunate series of events that Ms. ***** had a power outage so shortly after the chair was delivered.  And while we can certainly sympathize with her plight, a power outage due to stormy weather is simply something MediEquip cannot be held responsible for.  Some of the chairs do feature a battery back-up, and we are glad that Ms. ***** was able to have friends come over and assist her out of the chair so quickly.  At this time, we do not install back up batteries in our rental chairs, as we do not want people to rely on them for a main source of power.  Each battery will last for one to two lifts.  If the batteries are tested to make sure that they are functioning correctly, then that single use will exhaust the battery and it will no longer work.
When we deliver the chairs, we show the individual how the chair plugs in to the transformer and then into the wall.  The back up battery is housed in this transformer box which is typically shown to the end user.
We know that Ms. ***** was very upset, and we can certainly understand that.  Because she had lost some confidence in the equipment, we offered to pick it up right away and give her a refund.  She did not choose to take us up on this offer.  Ms. ***** used the chair for the remainder of her month’s rental without incident and the chair has since been picked up.
We are glad that Ms. ***** was able to continue to use the chair safely and effectively once the situation with her power was rectified.  We appreciate her business.

They came with no tools to set up a chair that was delivered today. They sat the chair on a coax cable of mine, and it bent the cable in the middle. I talked to the general manager and they said they do not feel the cable should be $400. This cable was going to my antenna and it is very expensive. I have a general license with the ***. The number is ke0vji. The antenna costs $20,000.

    Please see the three attachments

On July 12th 2 delivery drivers were scheduled to deliver a Lift chair recliner purchased by ***** ***** on July 11th from MediEquip.

Upon arrival to **** ********* ***** ******** ** ***** our drivers were met by a man in the front yard asking them what they were doing there and refused to let our delivery technicians enter the driveway, they explained that they were trying to deliver a lift chair.  He asked to see the chair and was clearly upset that he didn’t want *****, his sister, to get the chair that she had choose. ***** came out of the house.  He asked our drivers to measure the chair (measurements are always discussed prior to delivery, when deciding on chair to buy), after measuring Mr. ***** said the chair would not fit. ***** told the delivery drivers to take the chair around the back of the house to enter through the patio door.  When technicians got to the patio it was determined that the chair would not fit through the patio door because it would not open all the way.  The technician offered the front door because it was a double door but was informed that they could not because it was blocked with too much stuff.  The technicians tried removing the back from the chair to see if they could make it work.  At this point Mr. ***** got very upset saying our technicians scuffed his cord.  There are 4 metal adjusting feet on the chair, these feet keep the frame off the ground/floor by about 1”.  The only way this chair could have touched this cable would be to put the adjusting foot directly on the cable, which would have made the chair wobbly and made it very difficult for the technicians to remove the back. Not to mention the scuff he is referring to is much larger than the adjusting foot.   Mr. *****, started making calls, threating to call the police.  Our technicians called in and spoke to ***** ********, who instructed to speak with the lady that purchased the chair and ask what she wanted them to do.  Mr. ***** kept calling and harassing talking about that was not the chair he wanted her to buy, and we scuffed his coax cable.  At that point we instructed our technicians to leave as we felt their safety was compromised.  Even leaving the premises he followed the van which was not even on his property yelling and hitting the side of van.  ***** called our store very upset and apologized for her brother’s actions, confirmed that our technicians were very professional.  Within an hour she came into our store, we refunded her money for the lift chair.  We explained that unfortunately due to the aggressive nature of her brother we would not be able to do deliveries to her, but she was welcome to shop in our stores.

Enclosed is a picture of the cable that is in question.  It clearly is scuffed but not from our technicians.  It lays on a rough concrete surface at the entrance to a patio door.  It is clearly not broken, and we have no intention of doing anything for Mr. *****.  Our signed sales receipt states that the is a clear and safe pathway to the delivery. Applicable to outside and inside.  The client should bring any special delivery needs to our attention prior to delivery.   None of these guidelines were met.

On 7/2/2021, they delivered my medical recliner. I am having issues with the recliner. The part where the feet go up is not working properly. I contacted them and they came out. It was ok for a while and it started doing the same thing again. This has been going on for nine months. I have left them several messages. I told them I would contact BBB. They reached out to me, but it's been a week and I haven't heard anything. They have tried to fix it. The store display worked properly.

    To Whom in May Concern:

We regret that Ms. ***** is not satisfied with her chair.  She came into our retail location and sat in several chairs.  During her nearly hour long visit, this is the chair she selected.  We offered to deliver the exact chair on the floor as the chairs are all handmade and do have a slight manufacturing tolerance.  She declined and had us order a new chair for her.  We have spent countless hours and trips to her home to try to rectify the issue.  We are not able to find anything wrong with her chair.  We have replaced the pendant and the control module in good faith even though we do not believe them to be failing.  There is nothing else we can do as the chair is operating under manufacturer specifications.  Ms. ***** tells us that she is unable to use the chair and has it placed in a corner and is currently using her old one.

This chair was purchased on Ms. *****'s behalf by a charitable organization.  Since we are not able to find any common ground, and are unable to please Ms. *****, we have agreed to take a full return on the chair.  We have contacted both the charitable organization to address the return of the funds, and we have asked Ms. ***** to call us and let us know when we can send someone to pick up the chair.  Since the chair is currently not in use, this should not be a problem.  (please see attached email correspondence)

I am disappointed that we were not able to come to an agreement, but now Ms. ***** will have the freedom to go to whichever provider she chooses.  We hope she finds the chair that she is looking for.

    Thank you
