My 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT has been burning oil - over a quart burned after only 1000 miles. Suntrup suggested the engine have a combustion cleaning to see if it rectifies the problem. Since the car only has approximately 87k miles, it falls under the full warranty. HOWEVER, Suntrup claims that Hyundai requires a copy of the original registration when I purchased the car in 2018. I stated that I do not have that old paperwork still, but I bought the car from Suntrup and I have the title as well which shows I am the original owner. Suntrup says that even though they know Im the original owner and the title proves the car was registered when I purchased, they still will not perform the warranty work and are expecting me to pay for the work. I have owned several cars in my lifetime and have had warranty work performed on my other cars with no hassle. So now I have to go to the *** and have a document notarized requesting a copy of the original registration. This is complete and utter non sense. BUYERS BEWARE : do not purchase Hyundai products and do not patronize Suntrup unless you want to jump through hoops just to get warranty work done.Suntrup Hyundai Response

Hyundai ************* requires a current registration before any WARRANTY work can be performed. This is NOT a Suntrup policy, it is Hyundai. We would be more than happy to replace your engine if Hyundai would approve it. It is a fairly new requirement and we apologize for any inconvenience.******* ************ Director ********************************Review from Jim R

Its now going on 5 months and still no car. Service advisors ******************* very rude and no help at all. ************ manger 3 time and naturally got his voice mail and received no return call. I am filing a complaint against the insurance company also. And turning over to my lawyer. Very shoddy workmanship.Suntrup Hyundai Response

To whom it may concern,The vehicle was in our possession from 6-17-2024 until 9-25-2024. There are 2 reasons for the amount of time it took to fix the vehicle. Many of the parts were on nationwide backorder and the customers insurance company was slow on approvals. Suntrup was not given permission by the insurance company to replace the windshield. They have instructed the customer to go elsewhere for that repair.--****** ************ Director Suntrup **************** *************Review from Shane C

1. At the end of May, I bought car from Suntrup Hyundai South. I liked the car. I didn't receive the title after 10 business days.2. I emailed dealership about the title. I was told there was nothing amiss.3. I still didn't have title. I was ghosted or given runaround about title.4. After emailing a sales manager, I was told they were "working with the state to get the things that are needed for you to drive your car." I assumed I was sold a car without a clean title.5. After more time and more emailing, I was told they did not have title. They were waiting on the auction company.6. Seven weeks after buying the car (mid-July), I was told they couldn't get title. They would have to buy the car back.7. They told me the would send a driver to pick up the vehicle. Then they called to tell us they forgot the check but asked if they could still send drivers and mail the check. I said no.8. Unfortunately, this happened right before I went on vacation at the end of July. So they had to pause.9. Upon return, they said they were going to send driver several times but didn't.10. I finally drove the car back to ************ and picked the check up ********* no time did I get an apology or even a real explanation. I was told by ***** Schleisser that he'd "be happy to help on the price of this car" in reference to another Palisade they had on the lot. He was lying. They ghosted me when I asked about said car in the process of returning the one they had to buy back.11. Now magically the same car that they purchased back is on sale only 2 weeks later on their website and it is listed $3100 more than we initially purchased it for. Stay away. Shady stuff.Suntrup Hyundai Response

**************, I'm sorry we were unable to produce the title. I'm sorry if the communication did not live up to expectations. The vehicle appeared on our website once we received the vehicle back due to a automatic process. The price is a automatic publication with black book clean retail. I believe at this point we have made you whole on the transaction, let me know if there is any money owed or if you need any further assistance. Sincerely, *********************************.Review from Eliyahu G

I purchased a 2018 Hyundai elantra in 2018. I was informed 2010-2020 Hyundai elantra has a recalled on their engine. My engine light is on and I do have an engine problem. I took my car to the auto shop see about my engine. Auto shop informed me about the recall on Hyundai elantra engine. So, called suntrup Hyundai ************** about the recall. The representative was extremely rude. Stating I have to pay for a diagnosis test $500. The whole scenario does not make sense. So, I didn't get nothing resolved because I told my Vin number does not show it has a recall. Again it does not make sense at ALL. Very disappointed on the customer service and ********************** schemes and shenanigans. VERY UNPROFESSIONALSuntrup Hyundai Response

************************************ the information you received from your auto shop is not entirely correct. Hyundai does not have a recall on their engines, but does have additional coverage for some makes and models. Your vehicle does not have any open recalls/campaigns or engine extensions through Hyundai. The information you received from our team is accurate in that the engine diagnosis charge is $499.99.Thank You,The Suntrup Hyundai TeamReview from william t

I found a car on Friday 3-22-24 on Suntrup Hyundai website. Sonata stock#H0604R-1. Saturday morning, I reviewed the same site and snaped a picture of the price and car to send to my wife and told her lets go look at the car, which she agreed. Note we have bought 3 cars in the last 5 years from Suntrup Hyundai. after a 2 hour drive we see that they are busy, we waited and got a salesman for a few minutes and he told us that the car was traded in and needed service. but we could look and put a deposit on the car. so waiting patiently on our turn. My wife just looking for different cars online, noticed that the car we went to see the price was increased after we inquired about the car. the picture I snapped that morning shows a price of ****** and they price was increased to ****** after our inquiry. I asked the salesman why the increase? I was told that if we noticed they decrease a price on the car would i as a customer inform the dealer that the car was reduced. What???? very disappointingSuntrup Hyundai Response

********************, we apologize for any confusion. We utilize market based pricing and throughout the day, pricing is adjusted by our buying department. This vehicle had just been placed in inventory and still had to go through service. The market price on this vehicle is where it is priced at. We never want any customer, especially a past customer to feel misled. I know my used car manager spoke with you to try to come up with a fair deal. The screen shot you sent included the disclaimer I have no problem discounting the vehicle as close to the original price as possible but with the repairs performed in service and the reconditioning cost it is not $10,400. I would sell the vehicle for $11,200 which is a substantial discount from the price listed. let us know if you would like to proceed. Again, we apologize for any confusion *************************** Sales ManagerReview from SHIVA ROHAN A

My car broke down and went under whole engine replacement but the oil flow control valve in the engine is damaged in the transit which is clearly not my responsibility and the dealership charged me for that part which is clearly unfair i tried to convince them in every possible way but they are not ready to solve this issue i paid out of my pocket for that part worst service i have never seen.I question what if the whole engine is damaged in the transit should i have to pay for that one? silly right?Review from Dana L

I made an appointment for service recalls that were generated by Hyundai. I dropped off the vehicle and was checked in, the dealership mixed up paperwork and then called me to tell me they couldn't do the service recalls. I confirmed with them (the service advisor assigned to my vehicle as well as ***** the Service manager) that these were recalls generated by Hyundai. ***** stated that due to no history of the vehicle and the new policy for Suntrup which is if a vehicle has zero history with Suntrup and over 110,000 service recalls WILL NOT be performed even though it is a recall from Hyundai. It would have been nice if they asked me for my mileage information at drop off and stated this new policy because when the appointment was made it was given, I would not have made the appointment had I been informed of this policy. This policy needs to be better disclosed to the public especially when dealing with vehicle recalls. As a vehicle owner we are told by Hyundai to go to a Hyundai dealer then to have the dealer reject the work is a poor business practice.Suntrup Hyundai Response

I tried dealing with them on a new Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy that was coming in this week. Only to find out when I was called back on Monday that the sticker / MSRP was ******** and the salesman told me it would now cost ******** plus ****** dealer fee. What a terrible way to do business and not disclose the price up front. Upon calling other dealers this is not happening.Feel free to call me .Suntrup Hyundai Response

Staff is great, if you have any questions about the service they'll let you know they "don't argue" then hang up on you. Very professional, ***! Also was lucky and got to pay $170 for them to tell me there's no issue, after they spent an hour "diagnosing" the issue. Of course, they couldn't find anything...Definitely apply if they're hiring, you get to drive a car down the road and charge someone $170!Suntrup Hyundai Response

I am sorry for your recent experience in our service department. It is very frustrating both for us and the customer when the vehicle shows no fault codes or it won't act up while in the appointment. It is not unlike going to the doctor. You make the appointment then when you get there you no longer have the symtoms the doctor still charges you for the visit . *** is one of our best service advisors. He is knowledgeable and empathetic, He will listen to a certain amout of frustration but does not have to contine a conversation filled with screaming and sarcasim. We will not be servicing your vehicle going forward. I certainly hope you can get the situation resolved through another dealership. That being said. If you would like to contact me I will refuind any part of your diagnotic you feel is fair. Thank you ******** ******** Suntrup Automotive group ************ *** *** * *
