There are 3 people involved, but there should only be 2 people involved. I **** - I own the 2001 Ford van with a wheel chair lift that I own. It is title to me. 2 **** a "Friend of mine, I thought. **** was going to drive my van from St. Charles, Mo. to Navarre, FL. I know an old veteran here who is in a wheelchair and only has one leg. He has no form of transportation and is home bound. I want to use my van in Florida to get him to his doctor appt, church and the grocery store. **** and I agreed that the van should get looked at before the trip. To address anything that might need to be done before the trip. Person #3 ***, *** owns DNK Auto Center with his wife ****. Currently, **** works for ***. **** has worked for *** off and on before. I mad sure to be very, very clear with **** that *** was not to be involved with my van. I say it several times, in several different ways, that *** is no part of this. I put it in writing and **** responded several times, in several ways, that *** was not involved. I specifically address that there will be NO BILL FROM DNR. **** responds by saying *** lets **** work on his friends cars outside of regular shop hours, over the Thanksgiving holiday... you will read the text **** sent me. **** confirms in writing that I will not get a bill from DNR for **** looking at my van at ***'s shop. It is crystal clear, and I reiterated that several times over several days. **** stated that he will give me a estimate before he starts any work. He did not do that. He did the work without my approval of an estimate and then he presented me a bill on a DNR invoice for $955.00. *** is now holding my van hostage until I pay him $955.00. I have compared prices for the parts that **** Says he put on my van DNR gouged me on part prices, clearly. I want and need my van back to get to my veteran amputee friend around. Another concern I have is that my van is being driven around town while it is being held hostage by ***. I will send pictures of the odometer reading when it was dropped off to ****. I hope when I get it back this is not an additional problem to deal with. I need and want my van back. If those parts were actually put on because who knows if they were or not. I suppose I should pay for the parts. But the labor charge is not Fair.
