For over 25 years, my Clinic and I have been clients of BKD/FORVIS ******************* During the change-over (2022-2023) from BKD to FORVIS, I have noticed irregularities in my billing and accounting. I have sent Certified letters requesting explanations of these accounting concerns, but I have not received any feedback or followup phone calls from these people. I have asked about the duplication charges, the charges for added people to do the same work on my account, the penalties levied by the *** because of the errors committed by these same accountants, and the contnual interest charges that appear on my bill each month despite my Certified Letters Requests for explanation of Charges.

We appreciate the opportunity to have worked with ************** and his business over the past years.   During our work for ************** in 2023 (related to the 2022 tax year) there were discrepancies with information provided  to us that  resulted in additional time being required to complete our work.  This resulted in additional client service hours being incurred beyond what ************** expected for our services.  Despite our attempts to explain the situation to ************** he did not agree that the additional service had been provided.  It appears that he believes (as indicated in his complaint) that he has been billed erroneously or has been overcharged.  However, that is not the case.  In fact, my review of time records on this account indicate that the amounts billed to ************** were discounted from our normal hourly rates and he was not charged for all client service hours recorded for work on his account.    In response to this complaint we are contacting ************** with a settlement offer to resolve the outstanding balance for a further discounted amount and we will waive the finance charges that have accrued.   This accommodation is being offered in recognition of our longstanding client service relationship.  We respect and appreciate ************** and wish him the best in the future.

My father passed away 12/31/2023. From what I’ve heard Forvis has merged with another company. These people have been doing my dad‘s taxes for years 20 plus. I am the trustee of his small estate.. we had already sent Forvis dad’s’s taxes for 2022. Then he passed shortly after that.. I got a bill so I paid it figuring it was for the cost of his regular Texas. Then we needed to discuss filing trust/estate tax and then shortly after that, I got a bill for $2300. I figured the first bill was for the state/fed tax and then the second was for the estate/trust tax they’d be doing. So I’m just a young lady trying to handle her dad’s estate never once did *** out of Ontario California ever discuss any cost with me for phone calls, so-called consultations, which we had never set up times and dates for consultations, nor ever discussed cost at all. of course nobody does anything for free but I should have been informed of their pricing . I put in a call on 7/2/23 for one simple question. We also talked about other things like the surgery he had and he never once told me this was considered a consultation and that he charges $600 an hour.. I put in that call for one simple question. He Never once told me this was considered a consultation and that he charges $600 an hour. This was an informal simple question that could’ve been answered in five minutes. I think it’s unfair that Forvis never once brought up cost to me since basically I am a new client only because I’m handling my dad’s estate. Who is the longtime client . I believe Forvis is overcharging people. None of their invoices are broken down for services rendered it literally just says services rendered and then a price.. I feel they’ve been overcharging my dad for years and never told me that a 20 minute phone conversation that could’ve been five minutes was gonna cost me $525. This man proceeded to tell me and talk about other things unrelated to the initial question almost like he wanted to keep me on the phone longer

    To Whom It May Concern:

I write to provide my client FORVIS, LLP’s (FORVIS’) response to the above-referenced BBB Complaint. FORVIS is a professional services firm providing tax, attest, and consulting services to its clients. FORVIS was created by a merger of **** **** *** ***** ****** ******* *** ******* in 2022. FORVIS was disappointed to receive *** ******* complaint, and her statement is not a full and accurate account of the business relationship and dealings at issue. As noted in her complaint, *** ***** is the daughter of a long-time tax client of DHG. After the long-time client passed away, FORVIS worked with *** ***** to prepare necessary tax returns related to her father’s estate. *** ***** contacted FORVIS on numerous occasions to inquire about various matters related to the tax filings, and FORVIS provided responses to *** *****. FORVIS notes that *** ******* complaint does not say that she was provided inaccurate information; rather, it appears she was taken aback by the rates charged by FORVIS for the provision of its services. The fees charged by FORVIS in this matter are customary for professional-services firms comparable to FORVIS, and in fact, FORVIS did not charge *** ***** for all of the time spent addressing her questions. When she asked for detail about the billing, FORVIS provided that to *** *****. Further, *** **** informed *** ***** that if she had an issue with the billing rates, that she was welcome to seek an alternative service provider. In the spirit of goodwill, FORVIS is willing to have a discussion with *** ***** about her bill.Thank you for your time, and if FORVIS can provide you with further information in this matter, please let me know.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ** ******
