I work from home, to generate money to pay bill. Last month utility bill I forget to pay - Utility company fails to notify by phone/email as most any other company would. Shuts off power this morning roughly around 10am CST as Im working in the middle of a meeting. I call to inquire and expressing frustation at situation, not employee, she informs shut off day is today and must pay $262.63 to turn power back on - doesnt take my payment after stating why I believe amount due should be $238.75 and hangs up on me. Only item I had for current payment dues is monthly email of bill for current month, stating current amount due on 03/15/2024 is $238.75. Any payment made after 03/15 is $262.63. No where in the email does it say shut off day is today 03/05/2024. This is ridiculous and should not happen to anyone - Ive always paid my bill and would expect a call/notifcation or something saying 'hey pay it today by such and such time or power is turned off'. But no, I cant express my frustration as a customer and make a payment on phone to rectify. I may now have to pay online via cell phone and apparently can take 2-3 days before processing and may have power then. Thus resulting in not working which may end up in being terminated. If I end up being fired from my job, I will take legal action. I expect to have my bill now compensated for the full amount they say is due $262.63, plus a credit for next month, and any corrections made that hurt my credit score.

I moved bought and moved into our home on 25 August 2021 and had the City of Waynesville Utilities transferred into my name. From approxamately September 2021 to now November 2023 I have been getting charged a late fee of a percentage off the monthly amount due. The approxamate amount I have paid in late fees is $1195.00. I have attemted to correct this continuous late fee monthly charge by having the City of Waynesville, MO Utilities department change my due date to the 1st of every month since thats when I get my VA disability and Military retirement checks to pay all my bills. They refused to work with me and told me that the bills are due the 15th not the 1st. Act# *********
