On September 20, 2020 we purchased a **************** Contract through Asset Protection Direct the facilitator for ************************ INC.for $4,444.00.We filed for a repair that we had done for our ******* Navigator 2012 on Sept.14, 2022 and was told that the claim would not be paid because we did not follow proper procedure. We requested our money back and to void the contract. We were told that Asset Protection Direct would contact us in about 3 months and that there was no way we could contact them directly. We did not hear from them, so in early December ***** we filed a complaint with the *** Office of the Attorney General. They attempted to contact Asset Protection Direct. On December 16th, we received a letter from the NYSOFAG stating that they could only get APD to agree to a prorated refund of $1350.08 based on mileage and time of policy. Further the letter stated that *********, from APD would personally see that we received the money by December 28, 2022. We responded to the NYSOAG, *********************** on January 13, 2023 stating we would accept the refund. To date we have not received any of the promised prorated refund. I have informed the NYSPOAG of this and they said they would keep trying. To date they have not been able to resolve this issue with Asset Protection Direct.

To Whom It May ******* (BBB): ************************ *** is an administrator of vehicle service contracts. We are paid a fee by third-party sellers to administer the service contracts. The sellers usually use the services of multiple administrators. We do not engage in any marketing directly to consumers of any type. The consumer was sold by Asset Protection that information has been provided to the consumer. *********************** do not issue refunds as we are not the seller of7 the Vehicle Service Contract.

We understand that ******** is not the business that we have issue with.  Our issue is with Asset Protection Direct.  It was ASSETPROTECTIONDIRECT that sent the NYSOAG a e-mail on December 16, 2022 stating that " The *********** are due a prorated refund of $1350.08 based on mileage and time of policy, this is a pre calculated system that we use of all prorates. I personally have just taken over this position not long ago and have been sorting though everything so I do sincerely apologize for the confusion with the customer and the delay in my response.  The *********** prorate will go out on December 28th for the amount listed above.  Tracking informaton as well as confirmation of refund will be sent by myself directly to the customer and I will include you as well."(NYSOffice of the Attorney General)

To date we have not received this refund or heared from *********, Senior Operations ****************************************

On May 15th I received a call from Haywire Protection stating that Asset Protection Direct had been closed down and were no longer in business and they, ( Haywire) were offering car protection  plans.  She further stated that United Auto Defenses had been involved in the closing as was the  Attorney General's Office.

I received a letter from the *************************** stating they, like you were not able to make any further contact with Asset Protection Direct and were closing my case.

However, if you call the number for filing a claim ************, their representative will answer and offer to take the information regarding a claim. First there is a recording for a rebate voucher and then the representative comes on the line to take you claim information.  When I give my contract number, they tell me that they cannot speak with me because I have asked to close my account and have filed a complaint against them.

When I canceled my automobile extended warranty coverage with Asset Protection Direct in November 2022 I was promised a full refund of fees paid ~$1400 because I had not filed a claim during the coverage period.Since then I have tried to contact Asset Protection Direct on multiple occasions and a recording told me that there was no one available to take my call and disconnected. I Have contacted the company that collected my payments Mepco and the company that apparently pays claims for Asset Protection Direct but they always redirect me to the number that gives the quick statement and hangs up.The company that encouraged me to switch from Asset Protection Direct to ****************** was ****************************. They both promised the refund, and are pursuing the refund, but it has been almost 3 months.Asset Protection Direct seems to be avoiding customers completely and it is both unprofessional and extremely annoying.Sincerely,*************************

I purchased a warranty and the warranty started 7.3.2020 and would have been up 6.3.2022. We had a flood and I called to cancel it. The price was $181.37 a month for 24 months and I cancelled back in Nov. 2022. I spoke to someone and told them to stop payment or put it on hold. I called Jan. 17, 2023 and they said I had the end of February 2023 to get a new car or send a document and they would reimburse me. So I reached out to them today and was told I would not be getting a refund because it was not fully paid up. I looked over the contract and it does not state that in the contract. I am trying to get half of my money back and faxed over all the information about my car being flooded.

This company misrepresents the product that they are selling. I paid $4,907 for a vehicle service contract in May 29, 2021. When I spoke to the rep, he assured me that if my vehicle has any breakdown, I would pay $0 out of pocket to have OEM parts replaced.Fast forward this weekend when I smelled burnt coming out of my vehicle, I took my vehicle to the dealership to seek diagnostic and repairs, when the dealership spoke to the company that administered the service contact, they refused to use OEM replacement part in addition to refusing to pay for the full repair labor cost. Upon looking into the contract, we saw that the contracting terms were not what was promised when I spoke to the sales rep of this company. This is very disappointing. Then when I tried to get a hold of the company, the phone number does not work. And they have another website with a different phone number that does not work either. Needless to say, the conclusion is that Asset Protection Direct is a fraudulent company that needs to have further legal investigation into.

I am rejecting this response because:

    Regards,

    ***************************

I do not accept the business response because Car Guard is the one my card, booklet etc hace the name of ,with all the phone numbers etc, now they are passing the buck like I said before, as far as I am concernerd

Car Guard and Asset Protection Direct are one and are under the same umbrella and they should be working as a team to try and resolve this matter, I shouldn't have to keep 3 more years of protection for a car that

I no longer have, I will send an email with more proof for I don't know how to do the attachment, thank you.  *******
