We hired ************************* with Freedom Home Improvements to replace the ****************** that were on our existing deck. Our first payment was on 6/25/22 & it is now 1/2/23 & the job is nowhere near complete. We have made 5 payments to ******* totaling $90,700. Pictures attached. We still owed him $20,100 for the next phase of work but he quit before he got to that point.When the bid was originally discussed, we made it known that we wanted everything to be done according to St. ******* ************** agreed to this. Then as the project progressed, he started cutting corners anywhere he could. I've attached pictures of braces that he installed on the deck that were already cut twice. He was using scrapped wood to brace our deck which is very dangerous! Our farm manager was speaking with two of the guys that were helping ******* build the *********** told him that they've never built a deck before & didn't know what they were doing which explains a lot.The job site was also a disaster from the very beginning. Trash & scrapped materials all over the place that he refused to pick up. Pictures attached.He came to the property on 12/26/22 & stole decking/railing materials that we already paid for & then told our farm manager that he's done & he's not f***ing finishing this deck. We filed a police report for our stolen materials on 12/28/22. Picture attached. His contract states that he owns all materials until the job is done. He didn't finish the deck which means he broke the contract, not us.Desired Resolution: First, I would like him to return all of the materials that he stole from our property. All of the items that he stole were already paid for by us. If he is not going to complete this job then he needs to put it in writing. Also, since we have to hire a new company to complete the work that ******* failed to complete, we want to make sure that this project is not going to cost us any more money than what *******'s original bid promised us.Customer response
