I received a bill on Friday for $140.00 for dental exam and work done. About two weeks ago, they stated that they would be refunding me $48 for the exam that was never done. Now they are trying to bill me for it. They called me back and said they were going to send it to my insurance instead. Now when I try to dispute this bill, they keep transferring me to different people and then they hung up on me and just said I either pay it or go to collections.

Pt was upset because we would not refund the 48.00 credit to her for a limited exam. We refunded the money to the insurance company . After we refunded the money to insurance .After that pt was still over her max for the fillings and crown that was done. This left the pt with a balance of 140.00. Pt called and stated she she was not paying the bill. We explained that she went over her max because she had composite filling instead of amalgam fillings and insurance down graded them so she owes the difference.Pt stated that she still is not going to pay the bill .And that was the end of the conversation .

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

i was not told of the different fillings before hand. I was just told I needed normal fillings for me to get braces. I was not made aware after the appointment or during the appointment that they would be preforming different fillings than originally planned. I still believe I do not owe this bill because they did not communicate with me regarding this. ***** said either I pay the bill or they will send me to collection and hung up on me without further discussion. Also I was not upset about them not refunding me the $48 I understand it was suppose to go to the insurance but they originally stated the $48 would go to me and not the insurance, they were going back and forth regarding this. My insurance even stated to me they did not pull my benefits before telling me the my out of pocket.

    Sincerely,
