The nature of this report pertains specifically to the unlawful practice of double billing. On July 6, 2023, I sought dental services at Sterling Dental for the fitting of a new crown. The dental office, in an unusual manner, required an upfront payment of 50% of the total bill amount, totaling $967, to be paid in cash on the day of the visit. Subsequently, on the same day, Sterling Dental submitted a claim to my insurance company for the identical services, seeking the full amount of the total bill of $1,934.The ensuing events unfolded as follows:- July 18, 2023: My insurance processed a payment of $1,057 to Sterling Dental.- July 20, 2023: I returned to the dentist for the crown placement, where I was compelled to pay the remaining 50% of the total bill, amounting to $967, before receiving the dental service.Upon discovering the double billing discrepancy, I diligently reported the issue to my insurance company, which confirmed the payment made to Sterling Dental for the same claims. Despite presenting evidence of the insurance letter indicating the duplicate payments, the dental office has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and has refused to refund the overcharged amount.********, I engaged a representative on my behalf to address the matter directly with Sterling Dental while I am residing overseas. Regrettably, the dental office maintained its position, asserting that they had not received payment and insinuating an insufficiency of funds at the time of claim submission, a claim inconsistent with the documented evidence of payment.I kindly request restitution for the overcharged amount, and holding Sterling Dental accountable for engaging in fraudulent double billing practices. Due to my financial constraints, I am unable to afford legal representation, and your guidance and expertise in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
