  Date: July 2022 Breach of contract Company did not properly install new roof resulting in more leaks and damage of new OSB and purchased materials. Also a breach in contract with the removal and disposal of material. Old material was left on in some areas (OSB) we were renovating the interior and found the old stuff. When we reached out to the company they ignored us for months and then said they were no longer in the state or in the roofing business.

  My initial assessment was that there was some larger cause for the leak but that one possible cause was pre drilled holes that were left without screws in them.  We therefore removed and replaced all then existent moldy substrate, replacing it with new OSB.  Reusing the same metal roofing secured with new screws.  I believe that with the poor construction on the entire house, there is possibly another problem that has yet to be discovered.  I will not be refunding the work that was done.

  I am rejecting this response because:we had three other companies come out and look. All three came to the same conclusion. It was not some other issue, as you refer to. The roofing job had poor install. The screws were not properly set, so there was pooling around them due to the low pitch. And because of the pitch, different types of material should have been used for the underlay and between each sheet of metal - such as caulk or tape - which was not used at all. Also, other recommendations were made based on the work done and location - above a bathroom - should have used plywood and not OSB. There was a breach in the contract on multiple fronts. We paid for the removal and disposal of old material. We found a few weeks after the job that the employee who did the roof did not remove all damaged OSB. We have a dated picture of this. He also did not dispose of any of the material he took off we also have pictures and have it still sitting in our yard. This was supposed to be part of the contract. We over paid for ***** talk because we have left over OSB and metal. We tried contacting the owner, ******* in July and got no contact. When we said we had concerns he simply left our message on read. Due to multiple breaches in the contract we believe we should receive a partial to full refund. It was your negligence that caused this to occur (especially not removing all damaged pre existing OSB like we had discussed).
