****** purchased a car from ** and a few days later, her guy friend that came with her at the time of purchase, called and stated the transmission had went bad. We had not yet sent off her title work to DMV, so I offered to give her back her tax, tag and title fees. He stated they didn't want to do that, they liked the car, wanted to keep it, and were just wanting to put a transmission in it. I told him I wasn't going to put a new transmission in the car, IT WAS PURCHASED AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY, and AGAIN offered to refund the tax, tags, and title fees, before I sent off the paperwork, which he AGAIN REFUSED. He stated they had already purchased a transmission from Auto Zone with a 3 year warranty, and that's the route they were going to go. I sent off the paperwork, got her tag back, called her and let her know her tag was in, she came and picked it up and payed her 1st payment. A few days later, she called me cussing and irate because Auto Zone had lied to her, and her transmission had not came in like they told her. I apologized and told her I had NOTHING TO DO WITH AUTO ZONE, that was between them. She then demanded that I have someone remove the car from her yard, which I did. When the vehicle arrived back to our lot, it was destroyed. The transmission is laying in the backseat, ruining the seat. The CV axles, rack & pinion, catalytic converters, exhaust, etc., are laying in the front seat/floorboards. The interior is now ruined on the vehicle. It will now have to go to auction and be put in the inoperable lane, where it will bring mere pennies on the dollar. Since she vandalized the vehicle, and turned it in/repo, we will be seeking the balance owed of what the car doesn't bring at auction, per her signed contract and ** law.
