July 20,2022 We booked a fishing charter with Calabash Fishing for my family of 5, 2 adults and 3 childern 15,13,and 13. Start time was 9 am end time was to be 1 pm.. We paid $250.00.We left at 9am got to fishing spot at 10;00,then 10;30 they said lines in, we have a medical emergency and we headed back to meet boat ambulance, we met boat about 11;20. We made it back to dock about 11;40. They would not refund our money back to us Only gave us a ticket that we could use any time we came back for family of 5 ADULTS,1/2 DAY TRIP, NO EXPIRE INTINALS. We will not be going back to that area any time soon. After months of been home and talking to people lots of question was asked. What happens if they close business? What happens if this person dies? What happens if they sell business? I have called three times since after Christmas to see if I could get my money back. The first two times I was told he (owner) was out of town until January 3rd. Called again they said they would have him call me still no call. Last time I called no answer. The medical emergency was another customer on the boat with us that had a heart attack. I understand and feel bad this happened to this person, but I feel we should have gotten our money back. There is no certainty what tomorrow will bring. I can't believe I let this happen to not pursue our money sooner than now. But our lives have changed as well, and cash is short. Look forward to hearing from you? Thanks

We did a Dolphin cruise that was anything but. Our young children, 1 and 5, were never given life jackets, the swells on the ocean were 8-10 ft which caused the boat to crash from front to back and side to side, numerous people throwing up, one child sobbing in her moms arms begging for it to be over, one woman said it was the end of us all, no one could stand long enough to see any dolphins and there was no attempt to bring us back early because of the awful conditions. My kids got sick and it took more than 30 minutes to be cleaned up. Bottom line is we should have never gone out on the water due to incredibly rough seas but I'm sure it was because the company did not want to lose all those ticket sales. When I called the manager, I couldn't get ahold of him for over a week. When I finally did and began to describe our experience, he made up an excuse to get me off the phone with the promise to call back, though he never asked my name or my number. I refused to end the call and he HUNG UP ON ME!!! No attempt to improve the business and hear a paying customers horrific experience. My children are traumatized and refuse to go near the ocean now. I'm reporting this company for their misleading, awful practices. If you book a cruise with them, especially with young children, they will not be properly taken care of. In NC it is illegal to not put life jackets on kids under 12. I am reporting them for misleading us on both the website and over the phone as they told my husband that kids have a blast/it's safe/they get life jackets on the boat. Additionally, they advertise that if you don't see dolphins, you're next excursion is free...no one saw a single dolphin and no employee spoke about anyone on board getting a free trip the next time. Misrepresentation and misleading information that lead to child endangerment. I do not want another family to go through what we went through.
