Hi I have been emailing Hatley iticket since March 3rd regarding my case. I still have not received this pink ticket I am suppose to receive to pay the fine which is due before March 24th; it is now March 22nd. Ive been informed that I am suppose to pay $50 for a replacement pink sheet? Ive not received the 1st original pink sheet. Again I started inquiry on March 3rd which is before the ********************************************************* a follow up pink sheet. What am I suppose to do to get this fee of $251.00 paid?Do I need to travel to one of your offices to get a pink sheet so I can make this payment on time. I dont want to get arrested for not paying the fine. I want to pay the fine. I called the clear of courts and they said I could not pay the fine without it. Ive spoken to 2 legal assistants with no call back regarding my inquiry.*********************

    Business response

    04/25/2023

On February 17, 2023, client's attorney in Richmond County, *********************, mailed the client his pink sheet, which the client is required to submit along with his court costs payment in order to close the case with the disposition Attorney ***** negotiated on his behalf.  The email **************** received from Attorney ***** explaining the pink sheet reiterates information about the pink sheet throughout the email.  In relevant part, the email states the following:

"Court costs totaled $251.00. These fees must be received by the court by 03/24/2023. To pay you will need to mail payment to the court along with the original pink cost sheet, or PINK SHEET. This sheet has already been mailed to you at the address we have on file. If you do not receive anything from us in the next two weeks, please call us back and let us know."

"Again, it is very important that you keep on the lookout for the PINK SHEET, which has been mailed to you. If you do not receive it, please contact us right away. You must contact us within 21 calendar days from the date we mailed you the PINK SHEET (also the same date you received this email) to inform us you have not received it. If you do not contact us within 21 days, you may be charged a $50 fee for us to get you a new PINK SHEET and mail it to you."

On March 3, 2023, **************** emailed our office, "Just wanted an update on the court cost from my hearing on 2/28."  ******************** matter was resolved early, on February 15, 2023 and he had already received an email from this office with detailed payment instructions on that same date.  It is common for our clients to not read their emails, either in whole or in part.  On March 8, 2023 one of our legal assistants responded that the pink sheet had already been mailed to the address, which also included instructions for payment.

On March 14, 2023, **************** responded, requesting another copy of the pink sheet, as he had not received it.  This same legal assistant responded on March 15, 2023 that he would need to pay the additional $50 fee for the subsequent pink sheet, as Attorney ***** would have to re-negotiate the entire case in order to obtain a subsequent pink sheet and it had been more than 21 days since he received the email detailing the importance of the pink sheet in closing his case.  That same day, after receipt of the legal assistant's email, **************** called the office reiterating that he had not received the pink sheet.  **************** called the office again on March 18, 2023 to reiterate that he felt the $50 fee was unfair.

On March 22, 2023, **************** forwarded this office an email with a screen shot of his Better Business Bureau complaint, stating, "I have been emailing Hatley iticket since March 3rd regarding my case. See included email with date. What am I suppose to do to get this fee of $251.00 paid?"  Attorney ******* corresponded with ****************, responding to his email that same day, essentially detailing the information I have shared with you above.

Had **************** engaged with his case earlier and let us know prior to 21 days after his initial notice regarding the pink sheet, the $50 fee could have been avoided.
