I took my ***** S60 T5 Inscription to Swedish Connection on Thursday February 29, 2024. I was scheduled to pick my car up Friday March 1, 2024 @ 12 noon. I called the morning of February March 1, 2024 @ 8:05 am to confirm my pickup time. My pickup time had been changed to 2 o'clock. When I arrived to pick up my car the young male receptionist told me *** (the owner of Swedish Connection) needed to talk with me. I asked the receptionist was my car ready. He said No because *** had put a hole in my car engine when he pulled the timing belt and chain off. The receptionist told me as a result my car engine was now leaking oil. When *** finally came to speak with me, he did not mention that he had cracked the engine of my car while pulling off the chain and timing belt. *** attempted to tell me someone else had been working on my car and timing belt. I told him that was not the case. *** has been my mechanic for 2 years or more. I did not mention what the receptionist had said to me to ***. I played it off knowing I was going to report *** and Swedish Connection to the BBB. I am scheduled to pick up my car Tuesday March 5, 2024. I am expected to pay Approximately $3,051 dollars for all services rendered and parts purchased. In times past *** has done great work on my car.The problem now is my engine was not cracked when I took my ***** S60 T5 Inscription to Swedish Connection for repairs; and now *** is going to try and slip a damaged and cracked engine to me, knowing he damaged and cracked my engine. *** knows that cost of replacing and purchasing me a new engine is very expensive, he wants me to suffer and pay for the damage he caused: and the time he spent trying to patch up me engine from the damage he caused. He is trying to pass a cracked and damaged engine off on me.This is unacceptable services and repairs. *** has gone from charging me approx. $2200 to approximately $3050. *********** me, he cracked and damaged my engine.

    Business response

Response to complaint filed for Swedish Connection and ***********************

************** never expressed she was not satisfied, no conversations about her dissatisfaction

I have attached the following: first is the original scan of her vehicle. Note there many codes in the *****************

She claims that, only I worked on her car for the last two years

The second attachment is the last time ************** was in to have service or repairs done, note that it has been 10 months and 30,000miles

Because of the mileage I recommended the Timing Belt be replaced because of the codes and it was due for replacement at ******* miles

During replacement issues are, belt cant align with gears without the car out of time

The reason why no pickup on March 1

I have spoken to the employee that ************** is referring to about damage to her vehicle and was told at no time did he tell her that the car was damaged

The parts that were replaced during the work were two coolant bleeder hoses. They are very small and made of plastic. With the mileage on the car when removed the fittings at the end of the hoses broke and couldn't be reused

The second attachment shows the hoses and a gasket that was replaced because we took the extra step at no charge to ************** to use special locking tools and ensure that the timing would be correct

************** was not charged for these parts or the added time it took to go through these extra steps

The third attachment, the final invoice, shows that the bill is not ******* and notes on the bill state what is needed to correct the check engine light

Last attachment, email she sent after she picked up trouble with the bank kept her on the phone for a while. This fact made it difficult for me to speak with her

I talked to her and told her the check engine light not fixed, also that if she could bring it back, I had used parts

I was not going to charge and this way the car would be fixed

No communication and unjustified assumptions were the cause of this situation

I have filed a lawsuit against ***************** and The Swedish Connection. He will be served this coming week. I have official and validated proof of what I have stated, I will not have a trivial dispute a man, who clearly lacks integrity, and I will not provide and evidence until we go to court.
