Since my previous review of Octapharma's docked donor compensation if you missed several weeks in a row like it's a job. Making it the lowest paid plasma center in *******. I happened to look into my Octapharma app before I deleted it that I have activities to complete before my next donation. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it's because of the last review I left. I am not coming back to Octapharma. I will miss some of the staff and will say hello in passing. But I'm CSL for life until I quit. Every donor I talk to say the same thing about Octapharma's low pay is the reason they stopped going there. So they can keep me flagged so I cannot donate at any Octapharma in *******. *** pays the most weekly. They have $10 bonus pay twice a month. And their rewards points in cash can add up to $200 if you accumulate enough points. While Octapharma only pay $5 gift cards. Once you redeem a card you cannot redeem another card for 90 days. They might as well keep that. What can you buy at ******* for $5? At CSL you can redeem as much money as you want anytime. $20 today $50 tomorrow if you have enough points saved up. Thanks but No thanks Octapharma. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours!!!Review from Mario C

My complaint involves Corporates policy and procedure. My center in **********, **** has a great manager with a great phelebomist staff. My only issue is there are no set donor pay unlike other highly regulated centers. Such as Grifols CSL, BioLife, Kedplasma. I weigh ******* pounds. If I stop donating after 35 days it drops down to $35 per donation and I have to continue donating for a regular period of time (weeks) Until the pay returns to normal. The other plasma centers do not treat their donors this badly. If you stop donating for months and return the donor pay is still the same. This is not a regular paying job where your check is docked for a no show at work. But that is how Corporate run their business. If they truly "value donors commitment to donating life saving plasma." They will pay donors their worth. Like other competitive plasma centers. They make $500 per liter and want to pay donors crack head money if they do not donate twice a week. And their $5 gift cards that you can redeem only 1 every 90 days when you accumulate enough points is the biggest joke of all. I encourage any and every donor to donate plasma at CSL if you want to get treated with decency. And they show you your valued by the donor pay.Review from Jeffrey B.

Besides plasma place not informing you of all info....This is to do with Comdata card, who representatives won't help you, aren't even in this country so of course NO CUSTOMER SERVICE is Available. ANYTHING you do your charged and charges get pretty ridiculous in amounts, lowest is Allpoint atms only charge $1.50 each transaction. All the plasma places use this Comdata scam, cause you CANNOT use it at the pump either, so guess what now I'm FORCED to spend more on gas cause I CANNOT USE IT AT ******* What a SCAM... why is this allowed. PLASMA should be paid in Cash!!! COMDATA IS A HORRIBLE SCAM!!!Review from Serena S

I donated Wednesday and they keep saying network is down but I genuinely needed that money. I keep calling and they keep saying the same thing we have IT working on it but when is it gonna be fixed? This situation makes me never want to donate here again.Review from Damon K

1/2/24 3rd payment issue. Never had payment issues where I had to wait 24 hrs for a payment from other plasma places. They are usually instant right after donation. It ruined my day as i really needed that money. Never had this problem with other plasma places.Octapharma Plasma Response

On 1/2/2024, there was unfortunately an outage with our debit card vendor that was beyond our control. The outage lasted several hours, impacting thousands of our donors and preventing them from receiving their payments within the standard 1-2 hours after donation. Once they were back online, the payments that were entered into the system were processed. ****************** did receive his payment within the 24 hours that we promise, and we always ask our donors to contact us if they feel they have not received their payments within an appropriate amount of time so that we can attempt to rectify the situation. We do apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused all of our loyal donors.Review from Tanitha C

I don't know where to begin. First, I was standing in line one day when a young jumped in front of me saying he was there first but he wasn't in line when I came in. I asked the young man did he read the sign they have posted about getting out of line. He became agitated so the manger walked over to break up the argument and allowed the client to keep his spot then when the employee called him up to be screened he hadn't filled out the questionnaire so she allowed him to sit at the booth and fill out. They say we have to already filled out the questionnaire before we get screened. The second time when I was on the donor floor one of the employees tried to stick someone who was after me. I asked him why are sticking her before me when I been waiting to get stuck. he replied " ******* will get you" so I asked what is the reason for us to be in a line if your not going to follow the order. I spoke to a manager named ***** who looked lost when I asked him the same question. So to shut me up he gave me a express pass. Then yesterday I went in used my express pass and asked the worker to inform the workers on the donors floor that I had a express pass. And she caught in attitude and said whatever. I asked her what was and she just continued to roll her eyes and say whatever. I asked to inform them because she didn't last ************* were called before me and the worker said it happened because she didn't announce I had a express pass. So I asked to speak to the center director and he wasn't trying to hear what I had to say and then I lost my temper but I have never felt so helpless before. I been donating since **** and have never been treated the way I was treated since coming back to this location. I was wrong but I felt like I was pushed to it. They can say whatever to us because I guess they fill we them and we do but do that mean I deserve to be mistreated. I count on that little money but all money ain't good money. I feel like I was discriminated and mistreated.Review from Ken F

I was discriminated on and hate crime where your manager and 2 more donors where making fun of me and the whole floor was laughing at me because I'm Hispanic short stocky bald headed and ticky tattoos and was wearing a undershirt and listening to ********************* laughs st me cause the floor told her to stop it. And her reply was oh well I can't help it that's when I asked to be disconnected and speak to manager and saw it was her oh no.Review from Johnathon W

Octapharma Plasma, should change the motto to profits over people. Last year the profits for Octapharma Plasma were over $1B yet they still nickel and dime the donors. And don't care when an issue with the card payment system happens. If it takes 3 days like the last issue on 6/21/23, you won't get any extra compensation for the wait. Take what you get for the donation and be happy with it. To them you're just a cash cow they can keep milking for plasma, why else put these centers in low income areas.Octapharma Plasma Response

I have been going to the Octapharma Plasma for a long time. This is the location on *********. **********, **. My name is ************************************** I went there on 7-18-2023 in the morning to give blood. I went through all off your testing that you have to do and was approve and just waiting for a set in the back so my blood could be drawn. I guest he was the Office Manager got up set because I pulled up a chair and set down because my back was hurting me. I had surgery on 12-14-2021. He got real up set because I was setting down in a chair waiting for a table so I could get blood he deferred me. I did not think that was right so I call the Company in ************** and they have an answering service taking calls and I explain what happen and she said that someone would call me back. I explain to her that I do not want the same man call me back, well the same man did call me so that is why I am writing this review. I feel he deferred me wrong. This is what I would like to happen-pay me my money for that day and remove me from you black list so I can continue to go back on Tuesday and Friday every week.Octapharma Plasma Response

***** disclosed back surgery during a conversation with the Center Director for sitting in a chair in the screening line. ***** informed the Physician Sub of surgery date of 22DEC21. ***** donated on 24FEB22, within the 6-month deferral period that is mandatory. ***** was permanently deferred for not revealing his surgery per Octapharma Plasma SOP's and *** regulations.
