I applied for Rebuild NC back in 2021. I have lifetime rights to this property from my mother, and to my understanding, my nephew filed a fictious 2022 deed of this address. Rebuild has started the process of rebuilding my home and I was at Stage Demolition, and I have ALL of my personal property currently in five (5) pods. Rebuild NC sent me overnight letter in early May 2024 to informed me that they received a phone call that the property had been SOLD, which it had not. Currently, I am in an egregious position with ReBuild NC where the Case Manager has been given false information at times, the process has been constantly postponed, they have destroyed my house (August 2023), and in May 2024 removed Asbesto from outside where my house is currently a shell, and destroyed the septic tank.. I had applied for an extension that was granted June 16, 2024 that was NOT abided by where the final ruling was done on June 5, 2024.

Reimbursement for temporary housing. It is coming up on a year since I entered into an agreement with this program to provide temporary housing and since that time, I have not had any contact with anyone regarding payment. I have been emailing/calling and ***********************, Case Manager, she doesn't return the call. The switchboard operator says that she is making a note of my call once giving me the phone number to someone she says is *****'s supervisor however, she never returned the call either. ***** even claimed to have lost the agreement paperwork from my file however, I told ***** that she simply needed to go back to her original email, and she would have it, although I did send another copy of the agreement. All repairs are completed, and the temporary occupants have returned to their home months ago.I don't know how much the rate was because I never got the opportunity to speak to her about it so that is why there is a $1.00 in the space that says the money you paid the business.

When my wife and I heard of ReBuildNC we applied due the large number of repairs that had to be accomplished to return our house to standards. We had the tax assessor at our house when it was completely gutted throughout, and the value of our house value was 1188000 from $188000. We lost all kitchen cabinets and appliances to include laundry and furniture. We had Family, friends and 3 church groups-Methodist, Baptist and ********* ******** who did the removal of destroyed material from the first floor to include the carpet down to the subflooring, drywall and insulation up to 48". We found contractors who could do the repairs to the house. we had to replace all cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. we had to replace all appliance in the kitchen and bathroom. We first receive funds from **** who came once the water receded which took 2 days. They gave us approximately $14000 which covered the downstairs air conditioner and drying the subflooring and crawl space. We went to SBA applied which gave us approximately $50000. We had by then accumulated over $180000 in repair costs. We then heard about ReBuildNC and applied for additional funds to cover our costs. First appeal was denied which stated only $58000 of repairs. We retained an attorney who assisted us showing all of costs of receipts for materials and services. The binder submitted for the second appeal was 108 pages. This appeal was also denied because our salary was above the median income for ********** County. We appealed a third time using just our 2016 NC tax return showing taxable income was only $38000 well below the median income. The is appeal was denied saying the funds were for low to medium income families. We could not appeal again and in NOV our packet was removed from the system. this process took over 2 years and 3 different reasoning was used to deny each claim which if typical of NC. we were also passed to about 8 different contacts due to contract ending. This is sloppy operation
