In August of this year, my wife and I hired ************************ (aka "Junior") and ******** for a major kitchen and bath renovation to one of our rental units, including all new fixtures, cabinets, countertop, vinyl plank flooring, refinishing hardwood floors and painting the interior. On our behalf, our son dealt directly with ****** and ********, who provided subcontractors to do most of the work. It soon became evident that they were not familiar with most of the renovations, since the workmanship was badly flawed. The list follows:1) Upper kitchen cabinets had he wrong hardware and were not installed at the proper height; while the lower cabinets were not level of spaced properly.2) The range hood was installed too soon, making it impossible to correct the improper cabinet spacing without removing and reinstalling the range hood, cabinets and countertop - which did not happen.3) Plumbing lines were installed backwards, with gaping holes left in the walls they passed through.4) Cabinets and flooring were installed without sealant or trim to keep out critters.5) Sheetrock finishing was poor.6) Wood filler color did not match the hardwood floor.7) Shoe moulding was improperly cut and left unpainted. 8) We were charged for materials not used on the job.9) Our son emphasized to both Junior and the subcontractors, many times, that the walls had to be washed prior to painting. This did not happen. When asked why, they replied that the paint would not stick if the walls were washed(??).The overall work quality and general communication were unsatisfactory. When confronted with our **************************** to pay for such poor work, ****** became hostile and loud. The disagreement got worse in following days until we felt forced to pay, just to be rid of them. We're still trying to fix the problems "Decked Out Plus Contractors, LLC" left us with.
