Date of transaction: 02/12/24 Amount paid: $30,000 Business committed to provide a 30 foot x 60 foot stick built garage, dried in with walls and trusses for the deposit amount of $30,000. **** Young only provided a permit, digging footings, pouring footings, sand, ***** grinding. This amount totaled $7,000 and the work stopped. After contacting **** Young by phone several times, he had excuses for why work wasn't being done and why materials hadn't been delivered. He continued to ask for more money and no work had been completed and materials weren't delivered for the money already paid to him. The last time I spoke to him by phone was May 24, 2024 letting him know that I was unhappy with no work and no materials so I was firing him and asked for a bank certified check made to me for the amount of labor and materials due me in the amount of $23,000. He hung up on me and I haven't received a bank check or further contact from **** Young. His address on his business card is ***********************************. He has moved to the ******************** address.

I signed a contract with **** to build a garage,**** asked me to wait a week to start Said he had a tree company cutting down tree ,I got there to start and the 50 trees were piled up on the site spot,

**** asked me to deal with this mess, I know there were 50 trees because I grinded all the stumps..

**** also had 20 dump truck loads of mulch on the bottom part of his property beside the site spot ,That part of his land was unusable is why the tree company couldn't put the trees there ,They had the wrong piece of equipment, long story ******************* asked me to clean his mess up and then wouldn't sign the addendum for that extra work,

Then after dealing with the record breaking amount of rain and finally getting back to the actual contract job I dug the footing and the back part of his land was fill dirt,That was 5ft deep extra work there too,

I that will cause more cement block water proofing, I had to dig a 100 foot french drain for the footing, I **** up another addendum for that too, I told him before I did any of this work up front that it would be extra,He said okay all along untill I finished the footing,

When I was at the supply house ordering his foundation materials he called me and fired me,said I was too slow, I put 20 yards of cement that footing ,I hauled 20 ton of rock in there for the slab irrigation..

I ran into a big fire pit too,In the middle of the spot witch caused me to have to drop the grade down another 16 inches, I showed him that too,the first home owner used that spot to burn under ground power line spools, the big wood spools,I dug up hundreds of metal rods that **** them together, there was a lot of extra work , I had to deal with and **** addendums for all of it ,He refused to sign,The man was trying to get something for nothing,Him trying to blame me for something pretty much shows you wst he's about, I fixed his land to where he could use it all,I did a 3rd of the job starting at the blueprints I **** up to summit for the permit..

I did my job right everything I did past inspection,

This makes me think I got a deformation case, I did all this work by myself and now your sending me letters smearing my name,You need to do what's right here,

Let me know  what you think, Rick Young Construction

I am rejecting this response because:  Unfortunately, we do not feel that we received $30,000 worth of work from this person/business.  We feel we were taken advantage of.  Most of the statements made by **** Young (in the Business Response) are not factual.  Our main goal is to keep other people from being taken advantage of by this person/business.
