On September 6, 2024 I contacted my insurance company Geico for roadside assistance and they dispatched C.A.F Wrecker Services. The automotive shop that the towing company took my vehicle to got ahold of me and told me that the tow truck driver had lost my key to my car and a locksmith had to come make new keys for my car which costed me ******. The towing company refuses to pay for having new keys made. I feel this is wrong since the vehicle left my driveway on the tow truck with the key in the ignition and I should not have had to pay the ****** that I did pay to have new keys made.

The driver ******* that dropped the car off at the repair facility was standing with the owner when the car was dropped at the shop.  The owner of the shop watched my driver put the vehicle in neutral and unload it as they were doing so the owner of the shop and the driver was talking about shoes and the driver handed the shop a single black key to the Pontiac.  The driver then got in his truck and left after giving the shop owner the key.  If my driver lost the key there would have been no way to put the vehicle into neutral and pull it off of the truck.  The shop owner was handed the SINGLE BLACK KEY

Transaction date: 7/23/2024 CAF Wrecker should be ashamed of themselves for charging $350 for a standard pickup from a parking lot. I could maybe understand this hook-up fee if there was a cleanup process involved (for a car accident), but that was not my case.My car was towed Saturday morning and since they were closed for the weekend, I was forced to pay a daily fee for each day that they weren't available to release my vehicle. As you can see on the receipt, the hook-up fee should've been $97 and $4/mile. My car was only 4 miles from the lot, which should've been an additional $16.(The receipt was sent to me 5 hrs after the transaction, otherwise I would've addressed this in person)

This was at a take 5 which is PRIVATE PROPERTY.  We received a call from the manager of the Take 5 that 3 cars were in the parking lot and needed to be removed.  my driver towed this customers vehicle which was a Mazda.  When she called she stated that she was drinking and left her car there.  She was told that office hours was closed on the weekends and we would be available to release this unit on Monday.  Customer called about 50 times over the weekend wanting to know where we were located and if she could pick up this unit I stated to her that she could pick this unit up on Monday during office hours.  She was told when she ask why her car was towed I the dispatcher explained that she was parked on private property.  I told her the total and the invoice that she is referring to as ***** is for a roadside tow not a impound for Private property

I am rejecting this response because:
Firstly, I never called anywhere close to 50 times, neither discussed with the company of why I left my car. The main issue is that theyre towing cars over the weekend and purposely closing their agencies, then charging people $50/day for storage. My car was towed Saturday, on top of the initial $350, they charged me an extra $150 storage fee which doesnt make any sense at all. I picked up my car as soon a driver was available to release my vehicle, which was over an hour after they were actually supposed to open. I was even charged for Monday (day I picked up my car) all because my car was on their lot from 12 am to 6 am. It's illegal to charge storage fees when the company isn't open from 9am to 4pm in **************. I called Saturday, the day my car was towed at 3:16 pm and was told they're closed till Monday. Very unprofessional and breaks the law, will get a lawyer if necessary to get my money back. The local governments should do something about this, people dont work hard just to land their money to predatory towing companies.

The unit was brought in on Saturday and was there Saturday Sunday and Monday.  the hook fee of ********************************************************************************************** there for 3 days.  we do charge per day of storage and also, I was understanding of the weekend and did not charge the gate fee which all companies charge a gate fee, so I did not charge that.  Private property is private property and cannot be parked at without owners' consent, this is the same concept of someone parking in your personal driveway and blocking it without your permission.  Customer called so many times that she could have addressed this if she needed instead she posted on ******** and BBB.
