In December 2019 C&R Plumbing and Heating through ******************** was supposed to install a completely new heat/air system. During this process they wired up my thermostat to the wrong voltage and the thermostat caught on fire, my wife just happened to come home for lunch and found it. We started having problems with the gas furnace back up heat not working, they had wired it up wrong and instead of the gas furnace being our backup they had it wired to the emergency electric heat strips. They came back and fixed it. Then within two years of having the system installed, we started losing our AC system every summer. We had to have freon put in it on four occasions. I was tired of having them out to the house, so I had another contractor to come and look at the issue. Come to find out they had left the old A-coil in without replacing it, which was around thirty years old. Which by the way operated on R-22 freon and the new system uses 410A and at a lot higher pressure and should've been changed. When I contacted them, they said they do this all the time. Which from what I was told is not a correct way to install a system and they should know this being in the business as long as they have been. By the way according to *** they're the only contractor in my area that I could use and tried to send back to my house three times which I denied, and I had to pay $2,800 out of my pocket to have a new A-coil installed, and still waiting for reimbursement from AHS. One last note during the C&R install they damaged my condensate pump, and didn't replace it and bent the condensate pan to let the water run under my house. I would highly recommend staying away from this company and if you have *** please contact them to get more contractors on their list.

Our records show that we were dispatched to your home through your home warranty company, ******************** (AHS) in December 2019, where we diagnosed a faulty condenser on your HVAC unit.  *** authorized us to replace this, supplied us the new condenser and we made the repairs.  At this time, your systems were performing as designed. This was completed and all costs were borne by your home warranty company.

The technician recalls a call by you regarding the thermostat wiring soon after this repair. He believes there was a short in the existing low-voltage thermostat wire, which he repaired at no cost.

There have been no other calls or service requests since 2019 until 8/19/24, when we received a dispatch request from your home warranty company (***) with a request to service/diagnose an HVAC "not cooling" issue at your home.  Before we could fulfil that request, we were told that you wanted to use another contractor, so the dispatch was cancelled and no work was completed by us.

Unfortunately, we were not afforded the opportunity to address any of these concerns from 2019 and we have no control over how your home warranty contract with *** is executed or serviced.
