    I have brought clothing into the Chambersburg location often and always received a fair offer for my clothing. I buy expensive clothes, and up to date styles. The last 2 times I went in it was a terrible experience. I should have learned my lesson after I over heard them say my clothes were dirty and I know everyone that was in the store heard because I was in the back and I heard it. I sent a message about my experience at the Chambersburg store and I received an apology but athe the apology she wrote "but one of the items was dirty". You would think I would have learned my lesson but I decided to give them one more try. I can't believe the offer they gave me this time and had the nerve to bring the age into the situation. This is unacceptable! ! Someone needs to teach this person about age discrimination. I'm not a teen ager or a collage student like she mentioned but I'm a women who dresses very young and buy very nice, in style, not old fashion clothing. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS STORE AGAIN, and if that's the way all the locations feel I will never shop at Uptown Chesapeake again! I left one star only because I couldn't submit my review without choosing a star.

    Uptown Cheapskate is not a business I will do business with again. First time consignee and the process was very convoluted and not explained completely. I was NOT told it was a same day transaction - that what is brought in needs to be picked up same day or it gets donated. Nor was I told what they accepted and what they donated. Nor was I told what they priced whatever they kept for. When I got an email with wording I did not understand, I called to ask further. The employee could not find my record and could not find the transaction they professed to have made. I went out of town for 2 weeks right after I was there, got a cryptic email, called from out of town and got no information because they couldn't find my record. Went back today and it was explained then about same day transactions. So whatever they took, I get no cash for it. Have a store credit (ugh). They take 50%. I would consigned at other places - there are more honest and organized places.

    ****************** was in our store on 1/20/22 and dropped off clothing. She was explained in detail by our staff about our buying policy. She was given a piece of paper that she signed which explained our buying policy in detail. 

    She was texted at 11:43 and 4:30 that same day asking her to pick up her merchandise. She was also emailed the same day letting her know the amount that the store took. She did not answer any of these. She then came back to the store weeks later demanding her money. 

    Our buying process (we are not consignment) is a very simple process that we have been doing for 9 years. The process was explained in detail and we have copies of all the documents provided to ****************** when she was in our store.

    The response from Uptown cheapskate is not accurate. I called them when I got their email because it was not clear to me what they were talking about. I was out of town when I called and explained I would not be back for 2 weeks. The young man who answered could not find my account and could not explain what the verbiage in the email meant exactly. He was clueless on every level. I asked come very specific questions - "what is a "buy"? - he couldn't answer this simple question. No effort was made to accommodate my inability to come to them due to being out of town. And absolutely no explanations (detailed or general) were given when I was asked to sign the documents on my initial visit, which I did read, but quickly I must admit. In my opinion, the staff person helping me should have touched on the main criteria of doing business with them as the "documents" are not easily understood. Coming back the same day was never mentioned - never. The staff does to seem to be very well educated in the process nor helpful to new clients. I won't be doing business with them.
