Suggestion for all Food Lion self service checkouts. In order to control shrinkage in your stores for theft. Instead of having multiple employees stare at self serve checkouts to protect your assets. I would suggest bag persons to bag the groceries and assist customers in any way they can. It would seem to be a win-win. Customers get help, means more revenue, substantial improvement in profit margin,less shoplifting, better utilization of employee's.Food Lion, LLC Response

I am a food lion shopper, I don't shop anywhere else but food lion, not to mention my mother has worked at Food Lion DC 4, for almost 25 years and I worked for the old food lion store and DC4 before too. So I went to the food lion store in ****, NC store # **** on 11/25/24 and I had gotten one of the little black carts and I went down the hygiene and medicine aisle to look for some Halls cough drops and there wasn't any so then I went down the laundry detergent aisle and I had got a Gain laundry soap, 2 small bottles of Downy Unstoppables, and a middle size container of Oxi clean powder. Went to the end of the isle and grabbed a box of ****** ****** Peanut Butter Bars and I went toward the deli and bakery looking for some iced vanilla pound cake, in which I can never find no more. So I was getting ready to go checkout and realized this young man kept following me, but I looked in my pocketbook and realized I left my debit card at home so I went back down the laundry detergent aisle to put the items I picked up back on the shelf in it's place cause I didn't have enough money to purchase everything so, I went to the checkout to purchase the ****** ****** Peanut Butter bars I had picked up and I pushed the empty black cart to the side at the registers. While I was checking out at the self checkout, that young fellow approached me saying ma'am how are you going to pay for the items in my purse and I didn't have anything, I had put them back on the shelf where they belonged and I told him that and he said show me where you put them at and I took him down the aisle and showed him I returned the items to the shelf and we were walking back to the front and he's loud telling me I can't go back to that store or I will be trespassing and while he is embarrassing and humiliating me in front of other customers there was 2 lady employees and a male employee watching and laughing the whole time. I was falsely accused of doing something I would never do and I think it's wrong.Food Lion, LLC Response

I was a regular customer until I got a ******** advantage plan that also included a Healthy Options card to cover groceries. When I used it at Food Lion, they made me pay a separate tax and made me pay it in cash at 7% on my entire purchase.This was a tax ON TOP of whatever regular tax I paid with the card. I live in ** and we have NO TAX on food. I checked with 2 different managers and they said they did not know why, and maybe it was a Humana thing. I called Humana and no it is not ! I called the state tax **** and they said that sounds illegal and it did not come from the state, I called Food Lion corporate and they said they would search for a reason and call back. They did not call back. I emailed corporate 2 different times and they will not respond. I went to ******* and to ****** and used the card and that did not happen at either store!I have been trying to get answers for several months but no one from Food Lion will provide any.Food Lion, LLC Response

Your *********** location has gone down hill. On average I've spent over $20000 a year at this store. But no more. You've lost my business and will lose more. Your associates are not only rude but racist.This store needs an overhaul. Re-train, re-hire, or close this location.Food Lion, LLC Response

My experience at Food Lion today. As I was shopping for yogurt I noticed the ones I was going to buy were out of date. No big deal I work retail it happens sometimes. So I seen an associate working right beside of were I was at so I took them to her and said " These are out of date and I don't want to put the back on the shelf." How does she respond.... she ripped them out of my hands( 4 of them) and never said anything and threw them in the empty box in front of her. Well. I said OH OKAY. I had to just walk away, ****** to keep from causing a seen. I haven't had the best few days so with this experience I will NEVER go to that Foodlion again. I shopped her 2 to 3 times a week. You just lost alot of money. There is no SORRY that will bring me back after that experience.Food Lion, LLC Response

Maggots in damaged cat food cans. No thank you! An employee at the *********** location repacked damaged/open cans, taped box closed and reshelved. My Instacart shopper delivered the box to my home. They were also at fault as I could smell the stench from the box across the room. Ive heard horror stories but the convenience of a local store caused me to disregard. That will not happen again. Worst customer service. I did a pick up order. It was pulled 4 hours prior to my pick up time and said everything was in stock. It stated 6 bags. I waited serveral minutes for the guy to bring out my order. I got a text saying my order was delivered and completed before he ever brought my groceries out. I checked the order since two bags were missing. I only received 4 bags. I ordered a rotisserie chicken. The chocked was cold and burnt. It was so burnt it was inedible. He said he would get me another one. While waiting I checked my bags. I only received 2 of the 4 mozzarella logs I asked for. When he came back to the car he had a larger equally burnt chicken that he said the manager would give me but to let him know if I wanted it so I could be charged. I went into the store where 2 of the worst customer service managers were. They were rude and the chicken lady was irritated w me because all her chickens were burnt and she finally said she was giving it to me for free so she didnt understand what my problem was. I also complained as to why I didnt get the othetn2 mozzarella and why I wasnt given a receipt. They said they would email the receipt but until I received it I had no was if verifying what I ordered and received. As I was walking away the both yelled across the store have a nice day and began to laugh. This set me off and prompted me to check on the mozzarella. Guess what! There were 9 more logs sitting there I brought them up to the counter where they began to yell at me and said they got a truck earlier that afternoon. My order was picked 5 hours before I my pick up time. I was never notified they were out or offered a substitution. I called corporate only to get the nastiest receptionist who wouldnt put me through to a regional director but instead told me the lines were down and kept sending me to a dead line that would disconnect.
