In April of 2022 I went to Aspen Dental for a complete replacement of my denatures. At the time I did have Aetna Dental Insurance. Over the course of the procedures I paid my out of pocket expenses and received my new dentures. A year later I received a bill for $1482. I contacted Aspen Dental and was told that my insurance had been denied and they had filed it several times. At no point was I advised that my insurance was denied and they knew this after my initial appointment before I even moved forward to get the new dentures. I contacted Aspen Corp. and after speaking with several people was told that they would void the charge due to the fact that I was never advised that I was not covered. Last month I received another bill for this same charge. I contacted them again and was told that it would be taken care of. Yesterday I received a call from a collection agency demanding the payment of this charge. I do not owe this, and Aspen Dental knew from since April 2022 that my insurance denied this claim but never informed me of this and let me believe that everything was fine. Aetna Dental, my insurance company at the time never informed either that the claim had been filed or denied. It seems that Aspen Dental was very deceptive in this transaction knowing that if I was told that my insurance was denied I would not have continued to purchase the new dentures. I feel like they purposedly withheld important information from me.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and I accept it. Aspen Dental called me yesterday 8/20/2024 and advised that they were once again removing the charge due to their billing errors. I asked for written proof that this account is now paid in full and they are mailing me a letter to that states that.

Thank you for your help concerning this matter!

My dependent ***************************** had wisdom teeth removed 5.2.2023 and Aspen advised me in October 2023 (email ***** that they owed me $1112.20, yet I have never received it after multiple attempts. Claim # is *************. On day of surgery their systems were down (and remained so for mos.) and I was told they had to redo x-rays and codes may change, although this was all completed beforehand. Delta Dental told me Aspen had charged for things they were not supposed to (regarding service I had received prior) and their contract showed they were not to collect full funds in advance as they had done for surgery. I had concerns regarding time frame surgery took (much less than advised) and meds given, misinformation was given to me by staff in office. Overall bad experience and Aspen has told me they alerted regional and corporate regarding refund, but it's not been processed.
