The dentist informed me that I need a crown I had to pay in over $1200.00 that was my co ******** for the crown to pop out a couple of months after they did the crown. I phoned them and the office was closed. I had to go to an emergency dentist to get it cement back on it cost me $345.00 when I reach out to the dentist they informed me that their is nothing they can do about it and that they do not work over the weekend. I requested a refund for the emergency dentist. However they informed me that they would not do that . But that I can come in for a consultation (that i have to pay for) I told them that it was fixed by the emergency dentist . I had tree crowns done by the dentist because he told me if i do not do that that my teeth will break in half . Got it done *********** to pop . The dentist is not taking ownership for his work

    Business response

    02/27/2024

Good Morning, our former patient Elmarie ********* called our office after hours on Friday 2-23-2024 at 9:20pm and again on Saturday 2-24-2024 at 12:40pm leaving a message on our voicemail stating she had a crown come off, one we had done. When we reopened after the weekend first thing Monday morning we called Mrs. ******* back to try to get her scheduled for a re-cement of her crown, at this time she stated she had to do to an emergency dental office to have it recemented, the other dentist she went too charged her for her visit. She said "The other dentist I saw over the weekend thought it was necessary for us to refund her for her crowns she had done here." Which, ******* explained it was done a " few months ago" . We did do three crowns on this patient sequentially over the course of different visits not all done at the same time. Patient never told us which tooth it was that came out. The crowns dates of services were, 05/09/2022, 03/23/2023. Here at Myrtle Grove Dentistry we have a one year policy on all of our prostheses for 1 year under warranty. This warranty is granted as long as you are coming to your routine cleanings and maintaining your oral health as you should be. Mrs. ******* has not been seen in our office since 03/29/2023, not keeping up with her periodontal maintenance. Our office hours are always up to date on our ****** website stating we were closed for the weekend, the hours have not changed since we opened in 2018. Mrs. ******* did not have to go seek "emergency" care at another provider as this is not considered a true dental emergency and could have been more patient and waited one more day when we were open at our normal office hours. It's not an uncommon occurance for patients to have crowns come out when they are not following proper care or eating foods that are sticky and we've never had any issues with patients coming in to recement their crowns back on previously. Mrs. ******* has demonstrated by her ungrateful entitled attitude that she is best be seen at another office. Mrs. ******* also stated we wanted to get her in the be "re-evaluated" but at a charged fee. My front desk receptionist that spoke to her told her we would not charge her to come in and allow us to look and make sure everything was okay, and explained we do not give refunds to other dentist office because the patient decided to go somewhere else. Once that message was delivered to Mrs ******** she hung up on my front desk receptionist. I do keep all records of phone calls that I would be happy to provide to you if needed to back up our response.

    Thank you.
