On 12/7/2024 around 1300 local I visited your Oil Change location on ******* for a 2017 ****** Rav4 XLE. Unknown to me I developed a leak that I noticed the next day coming from the drain plug. Your tech cross threaded the oil drain plug causing a leak until I had it repaired at ******* on ***************** in *********. My mechanic at Meineke said the drain plug hole threads were damaged when the plug was put back in and caused the leak. The whole drain pan had to be replaced. The total cost out of my pocket is ******. I am requesting reimbursement for this unnecessary repair caused by Strickland Brothers Oil ChangeCustomer response

Approximately 2-months ago I brought my van in for an oil change at Strickland Brothers Oil Change in ******** VA and while my car was in the bay the manager informed me that my oil pan drain plug had been damaged/stripped out due to the work of the previous technician who had last changed the oil. He confirmed that it was one of their former employees who had since been fired and was responsible for a number of similar mistakes on other vehicles brought into their place. The Manager then generated a **** and sent it to corporate and then told me to drive my vehicle to the nearest shop for repair with the assurance that Id be reimbursed by his company. I spent $433.48 at **************** in ******** on the repair and missed appointments that day because of the situation. Since then, I have left several voicemails at two different numbers for corporate and have received no response from them.Initial Complaint

On 08/31/2024, I went to Strickland Brother in ***********, WV. I got a an oil change and tires rotated on my car. It was the car's second oil change ever. When I drove off in the car I came back immediately as my transmission was slipping and having a hard time shifting. I went back and they did not tell me they accidentally opened and drained some of my transmission fluid. Told me to let them know if I figured out what was wrong. Got it to dealership, they documented transmission plug being opened and the volume it took to flush and refill transmission. I am still have squeals and having issues with transmission. I called *** ******* and have emails and text confirming this would be taken care of. It hasn't been. He had sent me a claim number and I contact ******************* myself. I have not had any progress and my car still isn't fixed and I have not been reimbursed for my costs and have not heard anything from their insurance other than their is a review. Mr. ******* gave me every indication that this would be taken care of and no contact or information has been provided. I have included the invoice for work, the receipt for work I have to have done because the transmission fluid was partially drained and statement with details from the dealership and photos showing marks on the plug for transmission. ******************* Agent can give me no indication of how this will be settled. The number on the screen shot is Mr. ******* of Strickland Brothers.Customer response

On August 1st I had my oil changed at this establishment. By the time I got home my car was rolling black smoke. I thought my car was on fire. I grabbed my 3 year old from the back and quickly got away from the car. The smell was awful. Eventually the smoke died down and I saw there was oil from front to back of the under side of my car and even up the door of my trunk. There was oil dripping from everywhere. I immediately contacted Strickland brothers to let them know. The manager and another employee came to my home to see if they could fix the issue. It was determined my car needed to be towed back. Once investigating the issue, it was determined a spliced gasket had been used during the oil change. A gasket that had literally been cut almost in half. I was told I would receive a full refund for my service that day of $119. I have called customer service many times, I have left 2 voicemails, I have sent 2 email, I have contacted the text option they list on their website and have yet to receive a response or a refund.Initial Complaint

I had a standard oil change completed at Strickland Brothers and a couple of weeks later noticed an oil leak. I took my car back to the business and the store manager, ******, explained that the tech that performed my oil change no longer works there because he was messing up people's cars. ****** explained that he broke a gasket and replaced it with multiple washers. ****** claimed to have fixed the issue but when I asked him what next steps would be if the problem continued, he explained that I would need to take it to a dealership and if things needed replacing or fixing then the company would take care of that and there would be no cost to me. I took it to the dealership to make sure everything truly was in working order and they found many things wrong related to the oil change that was performed at Strickland brothers. They wrote a detailed report of what they found with the invoice attached. I have been trying to get this report filed with the damage claim department at Strickland Brothers and have been ignored by them. ********************* has been my point person in this and I am being blatantly ignored via email, text, and phone call. I have attempted to escalate beyond her with no luck. Accelerated Brands is the company that owns Strickland Brothers and when I go to their website, their customer service line is out of order and their customer service email is invalid as well. I have been quoted over $2200 of damage and repairs and need this company to pay for the damages done to my car.Initial Complaint

I went to their ******* park location in ** for a simple oil change. I thought everything was good I paid my money and left. A couple of weeks later I realized my car was leaking oil which was new it never leaked oil before. I called them and they did tell me to come back so I did, when they checked my oil level it wasn't even kn the dip stick( this was February 3) they found out that oil was leaking from around the oil filter they replaced and the new gasket. So they changed it free of charge it's now a couple weeks later and my car is still leaking oil. To avoid any more damage to my car I took it somewhere else when my car threw a code for my oil level being to low. When they checked it they saw it was the same problem and they proceded to put a new filter and gasket on. When I called the store they told me I had to file a complaint and had said that if the problem happened there I have to prove it. So I look all over their page and I can not find anywhere to file an incident report. I called and emailed corporate and I've gotten no response. This place is poorly ran and refuses to fix their problemInitial Complaint

I have made numerous attempts to contact corporate for this business after an employee at the Thomasville store 001 locatio failed to properly complete an oil change on my vehicle on May 6, 2023. This failure resulted in my vehicle losing oil and has cause permanent damage to my vehicles engine. My car is now driving rough and the engine is knocking and will have to be replaced ad a result of running without the necessary amount of oil. I have attempted to reach this business by email and received no response even after providing photos of my service sticker and call logs supporting this day where I had to drive my vehicle (with little or no oil) back to the store for the manager, to inspect and refill my oil. When I received no response from the customer relations email address, I left a bad review on ****** and finally received the generic apology but was given a phone number to call and/or text. I have attempted to reach out to Strickland Brothers Corporate through these methods as well with no response or acknowledgement. I have sent follow up emails that also received no results. This is a final effort to reach a resolution as I feel the business should assume some responsibility as it is the failure of their employee completing a basic oil change properly that will ultimately cost me thousands of dollars to fix. I have attached photos of my attempts to reach Strickland Brothers regarding this matter as well as my call long supporting the date in question when this issue took place. I presume this business also keeps video surveillance that if necessary could be provided to further support all of the above information.Initial Complaint

Strickland Brother Timeline: August 12,2023, Time Unsure: Estimated Price: $90.00 Complainant drove to the Stickland Brother’s 10-minute oil change and received synthetic oil change with a 25% off teacher appreciation discount from “Mechanic 1”. Prior to the service, the complaint inquired about the previous owner of the shop due to not being familiar with the employee. “Mechanic 1” stated he was the new owner of the oil shop. During the service, “Mechanic 1” was complaining and disgruntled about his other colleague not returning from his lunch break in a timely manner. While proceeding with the service, “Mechanic 1” began to the gawk at the complainant and proceeded to ask the complainant is she was single. The complainant responded, “yes, but I am not interested”. “Mechanic 1” made an uneasy face to the complainant and continued with the service. After the service, Complainant entered the shop to pay and “Mechanic 1” asked the complainant, “Where do you live?”. The complainant ignored the question and “Mechanic 1” for the total. “Mechanic 1” asked the complainant “Why aren’t you trying to give me your number?” Complainant became uncomfortable and quickly walked to her car. “Mechanic 1” followed the complainant to her to car to reset her milage in her car. “Mechanic 1 “proceeded to hang over the complainant’s car and asked, “So you’re really not going to give me your number? The complainant became more uncomfortable and awkwardly laughed smiled thanked “Mechanic 1” for the services and drove away. August 15,2023 -August 23,2023 The complainant’s grandmother and next-door number brought to the complainants’ attention of oil leaking from her car when she would drive away. August 23,2023, Time Unsure The complainant was driving from Albemarle, N.C. to Greensboro, N.C. and her engine light and check light came on. The complainant’s car began to shake and decelerate. The complainant drove her car back to the Strickland Brother auto shop and spoke with “Mechanic 2” and informed him of the car diagnoses. Roughly 20 minutes later. “Mechanic 2” informed the complainant that the filter was in fact loose which caused oil to leak from the car. The complainant entered her car and recognized the oil light and check engine light was gone. “Mechanic 2” proceeded to inform the complainant her car was topped off with new oil free of charge. “Mechanic 2” added a new oil sticker and reset her mileage. September 18,2023, Time Unsure The complainant’s oil light and check engine light came back on. October 14,2023 12:15 p.m.-12:45 p.m. The complainant returned to the Strickland Brother’s shop to get her check engine light diagnose. (*Note: The complaining had “Witness 3” on the phone during the service.) The complainant was informing “Mechanic 5” about her previous experience with auto shop and summarizing her car’s symptoms. “Mechanic 5” disregarded the complainant’s summarization of her car’s symptoms. “Mechanic 5” attempted to convince the complainant of the car symptoms without looking the complainant’s car. “Mechanic 5”, stated “Your oil light is containing to your oil pump not necessarily oil leaking from your car.” The complainant became frustrated as she repeatedly asked “Mechanic 5” to check to see if there was oil in her car. After 10 minutes of debating the car’s symptoms, the complainant sternly requested for “Mechanic 5” to check her oil in car. “Mechanic 5”, “Mechanic 4” and "Mechanic 3” inspected the complainant for roughly 10 minutes confirmed there was no oil in the complainant’s car. “Mechanic 5” asked for the complainant to pull into the shop to further inspect her car. After 10 minutes of inspection, “Mechanic 3” informed the complainant her original service of her oil change lead to “Mechanic 1” putting the incorrect oil filter on the car which was causing the consistent oil leak. The complainant expressed her concerns regarding “Mechanic 1” lack of professionalism, inappropriate behavior and sexually harassment during her original service. The complainant furthered expressed to “Mechanic 3” ,she believed “Mechanic 1” intentionally put the wrong filter in her car because she would not give “Mechanic 1” her number. “Mechanic 3” apologized for “Mechanic 1” behavior and stated he is no longer with the company. “Mechanic 5”, “Mechanic 4” and "Mechanic 3” returned to the complaint to inform her due to “Mechanic 1” incorrect due diligence it caused the oil leak. However, “Mechanic 4” stated he took off the filter, cleaned and put the filter in correctly and everything should be working fine. Approximately 15 minutes later, the complainant’s car and steering wheel began to aggressively shake and decelerate. The car could not accelerate past 60 MPH and began to make a rattle noise and slowed down the more the complainant drove the car. The complainant drove back to Concord, N.C and parked her car and the engine gave out. October 16,2023 The complainant spoke with her car insurance company “*****” which led to the complainant being put in a loaner rental under her insurance. October 17,2023 9:30 a.m. The complainant returned to Strickland Brother to speak directly to the manager to receive documentation of the complaint’s services and mechanic’s names involved. “Mechanic 6 “proceeded to inform the complainant that they did not have any documentation of the complainant ever being service at the auto shop. The complainant demanded “Mechanic 6” put something in writing of her services and his contact information. Later in the day (1:15 p.m.), the complainant ‘s car insurance adjuster performed a vehicle inspection and confirmed the complainant would need a new engine for her vehicle. October 19,2023 9:50 a.m. The complainant’s car was towed to Smith Automotive to receive a second diagnosis.
