On 04/19/22, I contacted Freddy ****** via a telephone contact number provided to me from his brother as a referral, for a sewer line repair. The number given was **************. I spoke with Freddy ****** on 04/19/22 and explained my current situation, and set up a service call for the next day at a fee of $**. Freddy sent me a text on 04/20/22, 2 minutes before his scheduled time to let me know he would be at my home in 30-40 minutes. After Freddy arrived at my home, he did a hands-on visual inspection of the leaking from my sewer line, and said the only way to know what was going on was to do a visual camera inspection of the sewer line, which he told me would be a one-time flat fee of $***. The camera inspection was set up for the next morning at 8am. His crew of 2 was an hour late for the camera inspection on 04/21/22. Only one member of the crew seemed to have experience or even basic plumbing knowledge. They spent approx. 2 hours snaking my sewer line with the camera searching for issues that would need repairs. Even a part of their camera had broken of while inside my sewer line, which would never be retrieved. The inspection crew forgot needed equipment for marking of the cracks and breaks outside of my home, so they left their camera in my open sewer line, while they drove clear across town to get the missing equipment. After they returned, they finished marking off areas outside with paint and then charged me $*** for the inspection, and failed to give me a receipt when I asked for one. Since the camera inspection on 04/21/22, I have sent numerous text messages to the same number, and left at least 3 verbal messages with Freddy's office staff to return my calls. I haven't gotten any responses from Freddy in 3 weeks, and I still don't have my FREE estimate for repairs. I also feel Freddy owes me a refund for over-charging for the camera inspection, as it was no fault of my own, that the inspection took much longer and his crew was unprepared.

    Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/05/13) */ I'm not going to argue the fact of I have given or not given an estimate, it's my choice on whom I work with. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/05/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I am unclear for what reasons he would say, "It's my choice on whom I work with." Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/05/16) */ I sent the customer an estimate last night, He declined the estimate about 10:25pm. As far as I'm concerned, he has that choice and he can move on to the next company. Consumer Response /* (2000, 12, 2022/05/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) True, contractor finally sent an estimate, only after filing this complaint, and after ignoring all my previous attempts to contact him for 3 weeks. True, I declined his estimate because it was excessively higher than other estimates i have received, and didn't even include returning my property to an acceptable state. I reached out to this business owner over a dozen times via texts and phone msgs, and only after filing this complaint did he choose to respond back to me, and complete our negotiation. It will most likely remain a "he said, he said" on what the proposed amount for the camera inspection was to be. Compared to most other local contractors, a camera inspection is a flat rate, and not billed hourly, or that his inspection took in excess of 5 hours of my day, when other comparable inspections were all less than 1 hour. I'm accepting a resolution to this complaint, because I don't want to drag out this any longer and just move on with contractors who are more customer oriented
