Buyer beware! do your homework before considering using them. They sent me a certified letter telling me they were going to take my tank due to non usage so I called a fireplace company to come fix my fireplace only to tell me that Palmers meter was broken and the tank was actually empty! Im out 325$ and the customer service offered me $100. How am I on the hook for their faulty equipment? I never write reviews, this was absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever been through. I wish I had done my homework on them. Their response was why didnt you have us come out to check the fireplace? Well first of all bc you are not a fireplace company, nowhere in the certified letter OR when I called did anyone suggest that, and if youre going to be aggressive enough to send a threatening certified letter to a customer I thought you might actually know what you were talking about and I figured it was my fireplace that was the issue. Plenty of better options out there!

******* – Thank you for your review. We’re sorry that you were unhappy with our service. We do charge a non-use fee, and we did reach out by phone and by mail with no response prior to sending you a certified letter. We typically remove tanks that are in the field and not being used as a safety precaution. You have not had a delivery in two years, didn’t respond to us, and we wanted to notify you that we would be locking your tank prior to removal. We’re not sure why you called a fireplace company instead of calling us to discuss the tank and your related gas appliances. We don’t believe we are responsible for your fireplace bill, but did offer you a goodwill credit of $100.

Spring noreaster: electricity shut off; standby generator started. When propane tank accessible, gauge said 15 gallons left; generator still running. Called Palmer to check automatic delivery status: delivery next day. If propane ran out, call for emergency supply during night. During night, generator shut off for lack of propane. Soon, ********************** restored. That day Palmer delivered 93.8 gallons of propane to 120-gallon tank, within 80-90% gallon range to fill an empty tank.Four days later, electricity went off; generator did not come on. Tank had plenty of propane; called generator-servicing company. Tech reset generator. Paid $360 bill.Called Palmer: employee's excuse: since delivery person had put in only 93.8 gallons, tank had not been empty; also, I should have told delivery driver generator had gone off and should have called Palmer, not generator company, to restart it four days later. Final decision: Palmer not responsible for problem because I had not called during night to tell them I was out of propane. I was sleeping; in morning, no need to make emergency call. Why would I do that when I then had electricity and Palmer had told me they would deliver that day? Also, story had now changed from they knew tank wasnt empty because delivery driver had not filled it to focus on problem was my fault for not calling Palmer (rather than generator company) to service generator when it wouldnt start four days later. Palmer would credit my account $150, not total cost of $360 because I had called generator service tech, not Palmer, when generator would not start in next wind storm. I have not accepted Palmers offer of $150. I was not responsible for propanes running out and generators not starting; to accept their offer would indicate that I was. Palmer has lost my trust and confidence because they will not accept responsibility for their shortcoming and instead, want to place blame on customer who endured problem, not caused it.

Palmer Gas & Oil delivered home heating oil to my house without my knowledge nor a request from me. Charged me 50 cents per gallon over going rate. When I called and complained I was told "You should be thankful, and the price has already gone up 50 cents, and will go up 50 cents again next week". I have never dealt with such manipulative and deceptive work practices.

This customer came on as a new customer in October, and we did deliver fuel oil to him in error. (He was categorized as an automatic delivery customer, when he had requested to be a will-call customer.) Our team spoke with him a number of times through early December to try and reach a mutually agreeable resolution for payment; and as a show of good will we proposed both discounted fuel and a payment plan. (His delivery price per gallon was at market rate at that time.) He refused both and ceased all further communication with us. We understand his frustration. However, he has benefited from use of the fuel delivery through these past 8 months, and we do expect payment. Because he has refused to respond to any calls or emails since early December we have been unable to resolve this amicably. We request that he call in and speak with our Credit and Collections team for resolution.

No discount was ever offered, that is an absolute lie. Shows the true character of Palmer Oil. When I spoke with your customer service they only offer to negate the interest on late payment as a negotiation tactic, and proceeded to charge interest immediately. So I couldn't even trust any future discussion.
