Consumer complaints allege that after purchasing the pugs, sometimes with gift cards, additional fees are added on as the "puppy" is being transported. These fees have included air conditioned crate, fees to the shipper, or additional insurance.
BBB discovered that the address advertised on the business's website is a 30-unit apartment complex in Derry, NH not a dog breeding business.
After investigating the business's website (URL), BBB discovered that it was created on September 3, 2020 in Cyprus, Greece. BBB has attempted to contact the company by email but has received no response. The "business owner" claims to have been injured in an accident and cannot talk on the phone.
After researching the the NH Secretary of State's Office, BBB was unable to find a business registered in New Hampshire by the name of Abby Hill Teacup Pugs. BBB also confirmed that this breeder is not registered with the NH Department of Agriculture/Animal Division.
Based on the information above, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of this business.
BBB has found an increase in puppy scams as a result of the Covid virus pandemic. Numerous scammers are using New Hampshire addresses that either do not exist or do not house businesses. Please be very cautious when purchasing a puppy and thoroughly investigate the breeder prior to sending payment. BBB advises that you see the dog prior to purchase and ask for information such as the name of the veterinarian who is signing off on the puppy. Consumers should then call the veterinarian to verify the existence of the dog.
