On Aug 27 2021 i contracted wirh RDF construction to do replacement/repairs to my house at **** ***** *** ********** NH and placed a deposit of $517,60. The total contract was to include replacment of windows and a slider to deck as well as entry doors(2) and storm doors. Entry porch to be upgraded and fascia on house front replaced. Total of $25880 agreed to . Ryan F******** then told me in late fall of 2021 that work would not begin until spring of 2022. During the spring emails and calls kept putting project off until May of 2022 when RDF told me the cost of windows and doors had gone up by $1632. and that a payment of $7819 was needed to order the doors and windows. On May 20 2022, I sent a check to RDF for that amount. latest status as of Aug 4 2022 is that he is waiting for delivery of materials. I have paid$8336 and waited for one year and have had no work done and no assurance that any work will ever be done. I have cancelled all the work except for the doors and windows as i have paid for half of that work already. I would like my money back and never have to deal with this person again. .

    Hello,

I have been in constant contact with this customer in regards to their project.  The customer is correct in regards to a deposit made for special order windows and doors.  Our original consultation was in the fall of 2021.  We discussed moving forward with the project in the spring of 2022. As agreed upon, I followed up with a site visit in May for final measurements of windows and doors.  Once these items were priced by the distributor, the customer was made aware of price increases since the time of estimating the prior fall.  They agreed to the price increase, we invoiced the proper amount and the items were ordered.  They were also made aware of tentative lead times on these items.  This customer has reached out several times between May and July questioning the delay in the project, with the knowledge that the material was not due in for 8+ weeks from the time of ordering in May.  There were various small projects on their project Proposal that they decide to cancel, which was done.  Each time these items were removed, an update Proposal was sent reflecting the decreased overal price. There is no intention to not complete the scope of work on the signed Proposal with this customer.  Deposits for special order items are non-refundable as these items have already been paid for. The signed Proposal also does not have a specific completion date.  Thank you for your help with this and please let me know what can be done to resolve this with both the BBB and this customer.
