  I purchased an electric car conversion from Polykup. The intention was to put a Tesla small drive unit into a **** VW beetle. After talking with *** at PolyKup I was told that he had a system that would work for me and that he would provide advice along the way> After a lot of time and money spent, the system that he sold me would not work and his customer service was horrible. It took days for him to answer emails or phone calls if at all. After doing further research it has become apparent that my experience is quite common with this company.

  ****** purchased a kit from us to convert his classic vehicle into an electric vehicle on June 25th 2020. The kit included several components needed for an EV. ****** contacted ** two years after the kit was delivered to inform us that he cannot get his motor to spin. After providing support it was determined there was several steps taken that did not follow the steps in the manual. Since the component in question is not manufactured by us and so much time has passed, we explained it would need to go through the manufacturer and that we would be happy to help with the process. In the meantime, ****** had his motor paired with a different component. Because of this, the motor would have to have been shipped back to the manufacturer for the pairing process to be performed once more. ****** did not like any of these options and therefore demanded a refund. We explained that after so much time and after not following the procedure in the manual, a refund was not possible through us.

  I am rejecting this response because: There was awful customer service. When this kit was purchased I was assured excellent customer service and directions. I received neither. These projects often take a long time as they are very extensive and very complicated much more so with out the promised instruction. The amount of time and money that was wasted by not having proper support was significant. I hired an expert on the subject, He works for ***** and he could not get the car to work. He then took it to EV west, the most highly regarded EV conversion shop in the **, EV west could not get it to work with the Polykup Kit and stated that they have seen a lot of problems with the Polykup kits and their general lack of promised support. While the hardware is now two years old it was never used because it never worked and is still the current product used by advantics. Upon doing some research on the internet and discussing this problem with EV west I found multiple other people Polykup has sold non working systems to, took money and never delivered products or at best to many many months to deliver things he said he has in stock. They continue to do this today. Please feel free to reach out to EV west. and I will contact others who have had bad experiences.
